Man so glad to see you transition from fishing to shrooms. It’s the same kind of addiction. That “maybe I’ll catch” becomes “maybe I’ll find” and when you find your first Penny bun it’s like catching a first fish species.

Mostly found at my place are the chestnut mushrooms and here and there some tiny penny buns. Keep on foraging and being yourself

Hi Alex, I've been following your brother fishing channel for a while and finding your channel full of foraging tips is just amazing. You guys cover a good 80% of my hobby. You probably know it already, but It's a very common practice in Italy to dry Cep and make a powder from it. It release the full flavor of Cep (porcini) and it's very usefull to add to dishes, especially when you have less tasty mushroom to cook with. Looking forward to learn more from you!

Have you ever foraged for st george's mushroom? It's a white mushroom that mostly grow in grass fields and they pop up in late spring mostly. I find them really delicious. The best way I have found so far to cook them is like this -> first you dice them and put just the mushrroms in a frying pan on medium heat to get rid of the water in the mushrooms. When you have boiled of the water you add fine diced shallot, butter, salt and pepper and fry it on low heat until they get a nice brown colour. Then you just put it on a piece of toast. Hope you see this and try it our for yourself. Keep up with the videos, they are very enjoyable to watch :).

Discovering the world of mushrooms is truly exciting. I’ve always loved the woods and fished the river, but now there is so much more reason to spend endless time exploring and foraging for these magical creatures that show themselves unexpectedly when you’re paying attention. It’s truly a rewarding activity!❤️

Alex, you need to be doing self sufficiency as well as the foraging AND especially cooking. You're a natural at all of it and you have a natural persona that says "I'm at ease in front of a camera". I really enjoy watching this style of video and enjoy watching people cooking outdoors or on a camp fire. Go out there and do it all my friend and take us along with you. I recognised the hills in the background by the way. One of them is called "sugar loaf" it's out by Bronllys.

I use to watch nature and mushroom videos in German language. This is the first I watched in English. I consider it as very good. A very nice and informative footage. Good narratives, pictures, story telling. It simply makes fun to watch. Thanks for processing. I also subscribed to this chanel. I´ve seen there is more excellent footage here. "Just Aex" is a great invention. And since I am a mushroom lover myself, I specially am looking forward to more of this pictures of funga.

I live on the Island of Sardinia in Italy. The Penny bun mushrooms are identical to the porcini. Whe have them in two types, the ones you got we call the royal porcini as they are harder and as they are found in lesser numbers they are generally more expensive. They predominantly are found under oak trees here. There are also the porcini that have a wider hood with a more yellow spungy hood. Love your channel ❤

Hi Alex, here from your old channel. I've got a few apps I think you might find useful for your foraging.? 1- Forager's Buddy: an app where you can store the locations of all foraged food you find. It puts a pin in your Google maps for the you. 2- Bird ID : Allows you to store locations of the type of bird you see. It has a handy search function that goes off of bird features, such as main colour, secondary colour, size, tail length, speckles, wing bars etc. It even has bird song for that species embedded in it to play. Try it with woodpeckers, they're highly territorial and will come to investigate you to see if you're a rival. Great for getting images. 3- British trees : produced by the Woodland Trust, pretty self explanatory. 4- Book of Mushrooms : fungus identification 5 - Mushroom identificator : more fungus. 6 - Survival Manual and SAS Survival lite : handy apps for wilderness skills and making shelter, starting fires etc if you you fancy going native for a few days... Hope you find them useful and looking forward to foraging fun and channel adventures.
