The craziest part about this VSaikyou competition, is that this is probably the last time Japanese events will host Apex Legends tournament outside offical competitions. From the organisers of CR Cup and VSaikyou (co-chaired by Shibuya HAL, part of Team TSM), they have said that they will drop Apex Legends for Valorant instead, given the lack of support they get from EA/Respawn. The most embarrassing moment was CR Cup 9 last year, where they had to change the game from Apex Legends to, of all things, Fall Guys and Golf It, because of the constant bugs, and instability issues trying to host a custom match. So yes, fuck you, EA/Respawn.

as much as i would like for this to be the truth, it simply isnt, a lot of vtuber fans are used to watching streams on youtube, and while it is true the ccvs is less on the algs youtube stream the twitch stream peaked at 600k viewers last year and averaged around 300k (mind that this number is influenced by lulls in content from breaks and whatnot), not including the youtube stream. Even combining the viewers of individual streamers for Vsaikyo it still wouldnt surpass ALGS, except maybe vsaikyo s4, thats not to say that Vsaikyo isnt incredibly successful though, and i personally enjoy it a lot more. Edit: i did forget to mention that theres also a lot of people that cant watch Vsaikyo live, so technically it should have a higher ccv.
@Bludflag Жыл бұрын
@@winstonmi1263 YT underscores live viewership so actual CCV can be double or triple what the livestream says. It takes a bit after the stream ends before the views suddenly surge. Hal's stream didn’t have that many viewers but it had almost 2 millions views after it ended.
@winstonmi1263 Жыл бұрын
@@Bludflag the reason views surge after the end of the stream has nothing to do with ccv, it has to do with every person that clicked through and closed the stream during the time, they do all add up, but the end result is still the same, even if we look at the archives from the vsai4 it has 2.9 mil, while the archives of algs has 4.3+2mil from twitch and youtube combined, vsai4 has the additional benefit of startends insane viewer numbers with aqua having 1.9m views on her archive, bringing it in closer in comparison, not to mention all the other individual povs, vsai4 probably has a higher view count total then last years algs, which i already stated in my first comment. But this isnt taking into mind that a vast majority of these views are being shared throughout the streams, with people watching the individual povs as well as the main stream. Its also important to mention that the numbers from algs live are only from the official english live streams. There is also a japanese and other language specific streams, not including nicewiggs streams. Again, im not bashing on vsaikyo, i really like it, but vtuber fans have to realize that they have insane bias.
@Bludflag Жыл бұрын
@@winstonmi1263 No, not just that. It’s been a thing for a while now that a lot of viewers are not recognized as part of CCV on YT. For example, I don’t count as a viewer; I watched a streamer with 0 CCV. Despite being present. Lots of streamers noticed their viewers falling to half or a third of what they got, so they made surveys in chat and answers exceeded official CCV. Contrast this to Twitch that counts you as part of the CCV if you have the stream running and haven’t complete muted it. And, to be honest, I’m tired of people shilling ALGS. It’s crazy that an official stream with a potential viewership of all its global players can even be outpaced by a tournament organized in Japan and with no translation / EN for broader reach. That’s fundamentally crazy; they should not even be on the same order of magnitude. I don’t even care about the bias argument to be clear, I think It’s also silly. "Insane bias" for not knowing all the numbers offhand for the past, what, three years of tournament efforts? That’s a crazy requirement tbh, it’s just a matter of memory. Demonstrating intent is very difficult for a reason, and your take perfectly demonstrates why. Fans can’t be forgetful or not know the numbers in the first place (i.e., regurgitating what others who did follow both Vsaikyou and ALGS said) and they can’t have valid takes on CCV differences between platforms; they’re just biased because they’re fans of something different so it’s tribalism / competition. That makes for a fallacious argument. Anyway, if you had instead demonstrated viewership numbers and dates of competitions, people would take your argument for what it is worth instead of just unnecessarily insulting people.

Based on passion is better than based on business, in a world full of pro players, it's hard to imitate a tournament like this where the viewer can gain so much access to the stream and each player seems to be more approachable. The western-based tournament is like a higher place where each of them only focuses on 1 game, reaches peak level, and fights it off with another team while in this kind of tournament, like VSaikyou, CR cup, the team isn't that 1 semi-permanent team against each other, but individual forming a newly made team against each other, so from the training arc to the real tournament itself is good content, that's why I think it's more "approachable". The point is, they form a huge and solid fan base together with each streamer it feels like the tournament is specially made by them for them and everyone around the fan base, that's why it feels different and special.

I've been saying EA should literally host ALGS LAN in japan even just for once in japan. Not really a long time fan in pro scene so I don't know too deep about this but I've heard about EA are outsourcing to a certain company for hosting this year's london LAN. Which, tbh, the quality is very mid. (not the match themselves) Player had DC issues in group stage if I'm not wrong, and something about the 2 venue are so different, main venue(where the casters and viewers were at) was comfy but the other one was fucking ass. Hot as fuck, set ups are shit, a lot of the pros complained about it besides group B's player, because they somehow just played in the main venue during all group stage matches. Then we look at some japan LAN. Their valorant LAN was awesome even though I don't play the game. Even then, there's a streamer named k4sen literally hosted a mini LoL LAN event during these riot games official LAN (I think that was last year's summer, kind forgot) and that still has higher quality then fucking ALGS. And yeah, some comment with high likes already said it. Japanese are dropping apex for valorant because how bad the game was in asia servers. And now they dropped hosting any big event for it as well. Some famous online community tourney like CR Cup or this video's VSaikyo are not going to be held again in the foreseeable future. As a asian viewer I actually got into apex as a whole watching CR Cup, but soon enough I realized its shit in the bed.
