Okay, so I'm just saying this from personal experience but I think another reason sex between women lasts fairly long is because we can climax multiple times without needing any real rest period. The orgasm isn't necessarily the "end" of the sex session as it often is in other couplings. It's kind of like combining multiple rounds of sex into one. Obviously this isn't the case for every lesbian relationship, but just thought I'd throw it out there. However I do agree some women definitely do need a longer build up than others and it's more common than people think.
