It has aged well. As proof we not doing nothing about Russia invading Ukraine
@sodib17 ай бұрын
@jackiesomoza58425t as Ukrainian I wanna say it's pretty sad because you probably don't understand Putin's mentality. All you should know is that he's "gopnik" (google this one). Remember what he's said on 24 February 2022? "If anyone will interfere, consequences will be awful" that's a bit paraphrased but truly tells the sense of his speech. After that, his propaganda machine turn on new term "red lines" that you MUST NOT cross. By "red lines" was meant some thing like giving Ukraine tanks, Himars etc. And what we have now? All of that has been given to Ukraine and NOTHING happened. Did you see nuclear mushroom kaboom in New York? I didn't. All I wanna say, is that "gopnik's" mentality significant feature and goal is to insult, to warn and to threaten, and after that doing nothing. Gopnik has results neither of strength nor actions, but because of his mad behavior, which convince everyone that's better to peacefully settle with him, nor than argue. "Gopnik" deeply inside understands consequences of his actions that's why he won't insult and threaten someone stronger than himself. "Gopnik" is like french bulldog or yorkshire. He is small dog, who will continue to growl and bark on everyone until you show that you're stronger one. So not be so scared because of another Putin's maniacal nuclear speech, he won't do that. His life goal is to rule, to be KING/TSAR, to keep stealing money from budget, to keep getting payoffs and to live in his Gelendzhik Palace, true story of which was exposed in Navalny's film. Good luck and thx for the help your country already provided!

He couldn't even pronounce the language right, though he was funny. As a non-native Arab speaker and a ethic minority that stand out in my country, I generally dislike when people use stereotypes of languages, ethnicity, faiths, etc. in jokes, just because of widely spread of ignorance among the public that people suffer from daily in real life and constantly try to fight against, especially people that don't identify themselves with it. I honestly find Arabic to be such a beautiful language. I took a year language course and learned to love it even more. It has such a flow and rhythm to it and it is so poetic. I've listened to the Arabic version of "Let it go" and seen the English translation and its even more beautiful than the original. I know I might be one of the few people who still like that song. I associate it with the sheer happiness of ending my 4 months of working at Subway and the freedom within that song just echoed so clearly my desire to let go of all of those painful experiences.

I feel like Russian is an accent where women can make it sound attractive but men cannot.
@syikinadlin54293 жыл бұрын
Literally.
@bearwithme71133 жыл бұрын
This perception likely comes from the flexibility in how certain sounds can be realized in Russian. They typically can range from milder, more relaxed versions to harsher ones articulated more intensely. One famous example is russian R which is mostly realized as a single tap /ɾ/, arguably the best sounding rhotic consonant, but can also be rolled multiple times without causing a difference in meaning. This rolled R is one of the sounds in Russian that many non-natives perceive as aggressive and irritating. Unsurprisingly, women generally prefer to sound "nice" and intuitively choose milder sound versions while men like to sound "clear and assertive" and often overarticulate. Those tendencies then transfer into how Russian speakers pronounce words and phrases in English, because many of them don't really work on their accent much.

I think it's more stereotypes/culture and/or personality of the speaker. A sexy woman will sound sexy in any language, especially if she intentionally changes the tone and pitch of her voice. The same with german for example. Also, women have a higher voice which sounds less threatening, and as the person above good written, probably women deliberately try to sound softer
