The whole "good crowd" thing doesn't really work outside of the US. The way it usually works is the crowd base their reactions off of how they feel about the performance. How they're "supposed" to react is only a very minor concern in most cultures. In fact, if you find yourself next to someone who squeals and shouts too much during a performance you're supposed to deck them or at the very least throw your drink at them.

@TheBuilderPro20242 жыл бұрын
I think the dumb/idiot person in my family would probably be me. Why? This isn't family related, but school related. Apparently, we are in that time of the school year again where volleyball comes into play. Of course, instead of a normal ball, we get a large one so it's fair for everyone. However, the goal was to keep the ball from hitting the ground in a circle. Plot twist: I was the reason everyone lost, two days in a row. First time was because I thought the ball was directed for someone else, when it was directed to me. It was too late before I even realized who was supposed to get the ball. The second time, was because I was behind somebody in case it goes father than them, so I was be the backup. However, when I had to hit it, it somehow went downwards because like I said, I'm just the incompetent b*stardly dumb@$$ who can't really do anything. Of course, people were screaming at me and were all like "(my name)!!!!!!!!! WHY DID YOU DO THATTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!", and "YOU'RE THE REASON WE ALL LOST, YOU SON OF A-". This just in, I'm just a curse, and no, I'm not over-exaggerating, those are the exact words they said.

I've done a bunch of local standup in Australia - There are these 'polite crowds' that you get sometimes, who will just silently laugh to themselves, but afterwards they come up to you and say "Wow it was such a great show, I thought you were so funny". At the time, the person performing is visibly sweating or confused, and even saying stuff like "Ok I guess you didn't like that one?" because no one laughed out loud, but in reality everyone had a great time, they were just too polite to make a lot of noise because they are worried about being obnoxious.
