I feel like people are confusing bad characters and bad movies. DC characters are great, their movies are not. It’s the writing and editing that is subpar. Maybe some people have been miscast. It’s a management issue and not a character issue. I grew up loving Superman and Batman. Chris Nolan’s Batmans were amazing. I wasn’t super familiar with Thor or Ironman. But characters aside, those are some funny ass amazing movies.

I like to point out that the MCU made Iron Man likeable when his comic book counterpart was at his lowest moment in comic history (and not referring to 'Devil in a Bottle'), they managed to make a highly successful movie franchise of the back of one of the most hated comic book leads at the time (the comics just having ended the Civil Ward arch) the DCEU cannot even manage a decent movie franchise carried by the most iconic superhero ever, while Marvel does it with a character hated by comic book readers and fairly unknown to mainstream audiences, Marvel could only use one of their big hitting names at the time and that character had only 5 years prior had a movie that bombed hard, and has since suffered from legal issues Marvel succeeds where DC fails because Marvel allows the actors and directors a lot of creative freedom and they cast people who are absolutely perfect for the roles

It has nothing to do with being recognisable. Justice league was poorly executed, it had some good moments, but overall the film was a let down, regardless of the superheroes. What makes a movie successful these days is good word of mouth and positive reviews. Still, 658 million is not a bad figure, it's just disappointing for a movie that cost so much money.

Jovany Marquez it's a bit more complicated than that. In US the studios draw from the box office and the theatres get a share of it, but internationally it's not so much like that. Justice League performed better in the international market but I don't know how much of that actually went to the studio. You also have to consider salaries. WB never really disclosed if they made a profit with Justice League. Some reports suggested the film just broke even, whereas others say it made the studio lose about $50 million.

They took their time to world build and tell the story instead of having batman vs superman where you didn't really care for either of them because there was one movie before.
