I’m sure they had a strategy but it only accounted for parademons. Bare in mind only six of them had already beaten darkseid and an army of parademons. By then the JL had tripled in size. They weren’t prepared to face on army of doomsdays, though. The plan fell apart because they expected parademons, not paradooms.

it *was* a good idea, just poorly executed. if they used their supers the right way, set up an attack plan, left a contingency plan for earth to still be well-defended, and generally covered bases, taking down Apokolips once and for all could have been a great idea. It would have saved them the trouble of waiting around for Darkseid to attack, inflict massive loss-of-life and destruction, and then letting him escape to try again next year.

In the original, it is Billy who messed up since he let Godfrey escape with Damian and that crystal that belongs to Darkseid that could revive Damian and Talia Al Ghul. Batman seeks assistance from the Bat family and Justice League to forge the Hellbatsuit for him then he went to Apokolips solo. He confronted Darkseid and they engaged in a bloody fight. Bruce successfully revives Damian with that crystal and goes back to Earth with the boomtube from Cyborg and then Kalibak attempts to drag Batman back to the Apokolips but the revived Damian kicked his face and knocks him out(The crystal that revived him briefly gave him super strength) then closing the boomtube successfully. In Darkseid War Mobius the Anti Monitor and Darkseid fought to settle who is the real boss. Darkseid is winning but Mobius used the Flash and transforms him into the Black Racer/Death then launches him at Darkseid killing him. Then the Anti Life Equation gave some of the members of the Justice League some enhanced godlike powers that turned them into Gods.

It was really interesting to see superman motivated by fear and trying to take control. And all the main members of the league agreed they should do something to stop Darkseid at the end of rein of the supermen. But I find it very strange that batman didn't immediately shut down supermans plan and have them at least do recon before the attack. And just decided... "ehhhh if Constantine survives we should be fine ".. also did he not take 5 mins to make sure cyborg wasn't sending a wifi signal to apocalypse?

Major flaws in the plan: 1. Superman came up with it. 2. Cyborg is literally 95% Apokolipic technology, therefore Darkseid can use him as a stealth camera without alerting anyone. 3. Apokolips is a giant war factory planet that spits out deadly forces every few minutes, giving Darkseid a superior home field advantage. 4. The JL went with a small attack force and no backup. Not to mention, unqualified personal such as Aquaman, his wife Mira, and Martian Manhunter. 5. No current intel on the enemy. If you're going to attack someone like Darkseid, information is extremely important. He's a tyrant with many years of experience in war and always has a trick up his sleeve. And finally 6. If you're not willing to kill the enemy, then the enemy won't hesitate to kill you. Or take advantage of your abilities, in the case of some of the JL. To me, they were screwed from the beginning.

Luthor and Batman was on that team, if those people followed up the plan then it must be a very good plan with hight success rate for Batman to have little to no contingency plan

The downside of the team was that they went to a planet that would neutralize many of the members and even some of their weaknesses, rather then staying on earth where they have the advantage. Mera needs water, star fire and Martian are weak to fire, superman doesn't have earths sun, Barry doesn't have many parts to run to since most is fire. Like darksides planet is built to defend from the justice league
