Who in the world would think that one of the biggest side/recurring characters of the show would get the most heartfelt tear jerking goodbyes of the whole series?

My God, what a scene - and in a "mere" TV series! I contend that Justified was the best TV series I've ever witnessed in my 60+ years; everything, writing being paramount, was top-shelf stuff in a way seldom seen.

I agree! This show is just too good. So many great characters, confrontations, dialogue...you'd be hard pressed to find a better show. Boardwalk Empire, Deadwood, Sopranos, and The Wire are all great as well but I don't come back to them like I do this one!

I was actually moved by Wynn's gasp of horror when he got free of the cuffs and saw how badly Mike had been shot. He genuinely cared.

What a great scene! I also loved the "Reservoir Dogs" reference, with the "Will you hold me?" line. I know Quentin Tarantino is a big fan of Justified. So it made sense for the show runners to put that little easter egg in there.

This was a legitimately sad scene (and you really have to commend both actors for managing to pull it off). …because as tragic as this was; you also can’t deny the underlying humor. Whether it’s how Mikey suddenly switched allegiances again…how he is applying sheer brute force to such a frail target…just how many times he’s getting shot point blank…Wynn Duffy just screaming in the background… …all to the sound of classical music. It’s absurdity dialed all the way to 11; and the bafflement of Wynn somehow surviving all of this pretty much sums it up.

"Justified" was one of the best series I ever saw and the most brutal and revealing of a life and place I never really knew or understood. Very very hard to absorb the emotions that one experiences while watching but I'm glad I girded my loins and finished it. Heck of an ending, too. 👍👍👍👍

The entire run Mikey was like the guard who was useless, then you find out he never had to do the job at all costs and when he had to he was the man.

Uhhhh, he had his boss in cuffs. Not a bodyguard thing to do.
@jeffreymello5024Ай бұрын
@ your mixing morality, he was always there as a bodyguard but useless , when his moral compass called for it he couldn’t let his boss do what he wanted to do when he realized he was a rat. When she said she was gonna wack him his body guard came back out. And for once he was all in. Mikey was the man in the end

This scene is pretty awesome. First Mike took 6 shots to the body and still did his job. He was kind of joke punchline until this scene. Mary Steenburgen is a talented actress but it is the second casting that could have been better. Rapaport being the other one. Both of them just do not have much facial expression in the show. But Mike was awesome. It just takes one great scene.

-wonder if she's still the president of the 'arts & crafts' guild' or whatever it was? Wasn't that her?
@ComedyBros57 ай бұрын
I don't know. I thought she was perfect for her part. She'd oddly attractive for an older gal, and she just emulated this aura of "I hate this character and I want to see her die" - not because of a poor performance, but because of how she portrayed the character. Rapaport, however, was awful. Should've done away with all of the extended Crowe family and just introduce Ty Walker/his goons as the S5 villain and then bring in Markham with Boone for all of S6. BUT, all the bad to come from S5, we still got the golden "21 foot rule."

When I first watched the show, I missed that bit entirely. I was so shocked with Mikey's death that it went right over my head and I ended the series wondering how that dude weasled away again. It wasn't til I watched through the show again that I caught it and it all made sense how Duffy was able to get away.

@@bigl6322 I watched quite a few justified clips, then saw the whole series for sale at Walmart for about $40....turns out the clips were just about half the first season. It's quite well done, definitely worth the purchase. I'm hearing that city primeval isn't nearly as good, and the clips I've seen agree. I enjoyed the series last year, there's so much more content in each full episode and it was done with a start and finish in mind, so it doesn't wander all over or start things it doesn't finish. I know alot of people don't do hard discs in the age of streaming.....but just to get away from the ads and subscription costs.....buying a player and some series can be alot cheaper. There's complete series for most everything that's had a good run on TV available nowadays.
