She grew up a people pleaser, probably because of her childhood. I don’t want to get into the psychology aspect of it but she probably had a fear of abandonment. I suggest you watch Jeury’s Kelly Rowland video if you haven’t already. RL from next gave some insight about how he knew Kelly could sing, but was just so comfortable singing background , so on writings on the wall, he convinced Matthew and some other producers to let her sing lead on a song and she came through on now that she’s gone. She always speaks up for other people when they wont do the same thing for her.

They got guardianship of Kelly Rowland at age 11 y/o- bcz of one parent, her mother work schedule, making it difficult for demanding group practices to and from, travel, and performances - she moved in with Beyoncé’s family bcz her father and manager Matthew Knowles had acquired ownership of the group name Destiny Child, and had total management- initially he wanted legal guardianship of all under age DC members, thank goodness it didn’t happen!
