Anyone who has suffered from severe alcoholism knows how awful it is to be right on the precipice of complete and utter catastrophe. When he said "what if I go crazy now & destroy what's left of my life" - he wasn't being dramatic - that is something that is always a possibility with alcoholics, even if they've been clean for decades. I had a friend who almost drank himself to death and was wrecked by the age of 28 but managed to get clean through desperation and hard work. He was sober for 11 years until one night at a wedding he made the mistake of picking up a beer. He was dead 3 months later.

remember, our singer guy, CHOOSES to earn a living this way. Sometimes when a bartender finds out hes an alcoholic hits rock bottom, does the jail thing, but survives and is in recovery for life, going back and WORKING as a BARTENDER is just not a smart nor sponsor recommended choice. So it is hard for me to have any sympathy for someone who is so needy to be the center of attention, they continue to dance with devil, and wen shit gets hot, the first thing they think of is "SHUT THE SHOW DOWN" and proceeds with a "PUBLIC ADMONISHMENT " in bashing others by dressing down the fan like a pretentious teacher does a unruly student who is disruptive in class because of his fetal alcohol syndrome..The fact is, a decade after his band is relevant, he should never take a single fan for granted, and understand that every person that comes to see the band is overpaying to show their support, therefore, occupational hazards are part of the job, and to be treated as such, should a recovering alcoholic choose to put themselves back in this non-stop house party work environment and roll the dice..

I was at the gig. I never understood what people find amusing about throwing their beers at artists or just over the audience's heads. I hate being hit by that, and I would hate it even more if I was on stage trying to entertain people. Let alone the fact that Justin is a dry alcoholic. Someone threw a beer at the beginning of the show and Justin let it be known in no uncertain terms - albeit with a smile - that if that happened another time, he would "come down and crush that guy's throat". You would think that would suffice. But later in the show, a woman again threw a beer at him, and when he confronted her, she called him a pussy. I think he handled it beautifully and with restraint (though I don't know if he would've had the same restraint if it had been a dude :D), and he's absolutely right, it's a matter of respect. Thank god the audience was 100% behind him on that. Justin adressed the matter once more before the encore and thanked the audience for saving the evening for him. the way he handles this incident is very professional and inspiring! in fact rock musicians are known for their sobriety and politeness. The more I love this artist so damn cool. Always tamed I believe he is truly a kind person as I observe even his YT channel the way he does reaction videos and commentaries he is on the positive side always with kind words. indeed an amazing performer close to his fans deeply rooted it cant just be distracted by a mischievous beer thrower! No beer in 13 years and some degenerate throws one on him. Then he says the truth...”what if I went out and started drinking again and it destroyed my life just because of someone who threw a beer.” He literally just told everyone he’s that close to a relapse! What a great person! He didn’t even say half the stuff I would have. Then he finished the set! Wow! Dude my hat is off to you man! What a really classy guy! Great job! Kudos lead singer!

Not sure if I had ever heard of this band or not but I will say this. I certainly have a lotta respect for Justin now having witnessed this. He should have done like Zappa did years before when items were thrown on the stage that he asked not to be thrown. He stopped the show and said if it happened again, "we're out of here". He then continued on with the show, playing all of it except for some of the encore. Items were thrown on the stage again, Frank stopped the show again and said that they would return when the audience had grown up. And with that not another word was said, not another note of music was played, the band walked off the stage.
