Loved the Moody Blues ever since I first heard them in the late 60's and instantly fell in love with their music. I bought all of their albums including Justin's solo album, 'The View From The Hill' where I first heard this song.

I think this song tells us that a loving God never intended for this to be a way of life and yet it has been for many.Even tho the bible tells a loving God holds out a hope for us and he will erase all the hurt from the past we still have to endure the pain and suffering for now.Remember,God saw his begotten son being humiliated and in pain to prove to the devil and all that support him that love and integrity to the God that gave us life and all the good things that go with it exists in many.I tribute this song to the many that have fallen victim to their heart being stirred the wrong way and i pray and hope Jehovah remembers and loves them to know the truth.

What could be sadder than finding peace in taking one's one life? The theme of suicide is rarely dealt with in music, I appreciate Justin Hayward doing that. Too many people are unhappy and have nobody to turn to for comfort . This song touched my soul. I wonder if Justin is referring to something happened to him, somebody he knew who was so unhappy and lonely and desperate to drop the only thing we have, life. Only Justin could write a song as deep and moving as 'Billy and sing it with so much emotional involvement.

I have listened this song for the first time today. It is really touching and as some commented, dedicated to a topic which is not usual. In my opinion, Justin has a song almost for every day and life events of human beings. It is amazing in this sense and he has infinite sources of inspiration: from the simplest to the more complex. We are all in hands of our creator and it seems to me that some people come to this plante even to experience suicide, like others experience poverty or full happiness and richness. We really don't know and can just guess and learn. Anyway, I want to believe that some came to feel the impulse of taking their lives but to be saved last minute. Wishing that this is the most frequent case and that people listening to this song be able to help preventing suicide. In reallity it is very simple to look at others like particles of our creator. If we would be able to feel that, nobody will act against another human being or creature. The question is: were we programmed to understand this idea or this was just programmed for some of us? We will find answers when it be time. Blessings and thank you Justin (Master)

Suicide is such a horrible thing, because it not only makes one think what caused this person to take his own life, but the sadness that touches everyone who knew him. One can be in a crowded room full of all walks of life, and still feel very lonely, sad and even mad that life was not fair to that person. Most people cannot see what face is behind that mask that person hides behind, keeping his anguished thoughts to themselves. We are all caught up in our own little worlds that we cannot see what is going on around us. It just takes one person to show a person with troubled thoughts that they care and love that person. Then you have over 3,000 people trapped in two burning buildings side by side, or people in a plane knowing that they are going to die due to their plane being captured and knowing they are on a suicide mission by our enemies which happened on September 11.....20 years ago. We will never forget those whose lives were taken from them and those that sadly take their own. It is a sad, sad world we live in.
