I have listened to this beautiful song many many times. Though I have seen Justin both solo and with the Moodys so many times, I have never seen him play it. It always brings tears to my eyes, as I imagine myself at the burial site of a beloved, giving one last goodbye before turning away. I am so happy to have found this video of him performing this song. As a 17 year old, I met Justin and the other 4 Moodys at the Houston airport in 1972, right as they got off their plane---back before security existed. I had told a few white lies to their concert promoter and they gave me their travel info. I brought the insert liners notes to Threshold of a Dream and Justin rounded up all the boys to autograph it for me. He was so nice and polite, quite unlike most 26 year old superstars. It is wonderful when your hero turns out to be as good as you imagine. Sorry to be so longwinded, but I just love his/their music and the guys.

What a beautiful musician, songwriter, singer and human being. I've seen him twice with the moodys and once under his own name with Mike Dawes. The last time he actually sat down and talked with the audience about his life and how he had shed most of the rock star trappings (mansion, bus loads of guitars) but not in a "virtue signalling" way. Open and quite humbly.

Justin always writes the most heart-feeling words. I rarely listened to the words in songs, preferring the melody, except for Justin's and Moody Blues songs. I thought the guitar picking was very magickal. The lyrics to these songs are always so meaningful, and those lyrics resonate with me today as they did yesteryear. These songs never age, one never tire of them, and songs which you have to stop what you are doing and listen and enjoy.. Lovely song, Justin. I cannot wait until you come to Maryland in September. I never miss a show.

Every note he plays, every word he sings is cared and performed with such a sentiment that every spirit is filled with a substance that cannot be explained in any language. Justin Hayward is music himself since he was born. No matter how many times he plays a song. Every time is the first time, Do you know how difficult is this? All true musicians know that and how important it is to feel every time a true emotion so it can be communicated to the audience. Bravo, master

Dear master: Writing to you is not easy. It is impossible to be sure that one talks to you and I am very skeptical about it, but, anyway, we will keep trying. Nothing happens if I don't talk to you either, the music you create and that you have created together with your groups, especially the MBs, is enough for me. As a musician I am curious about your creation and that of other progressive rock groups as well, and I think there is a lack of books about it. Many years have passed and it is time to talk about this stage of music and how enriching it has been. The artistic world has declined a lot since the 1990s and thousands of young people don't know that this music is something else for their spirits, just like a Vivaldi concert and so many others who don't listen to it either. If humanity should grow in spirit, the truth is that we are on a very strange path... only our creator knows why. It is these and not other topics that I would like to talk to you about. In this sense, I think there is much to learn from your career and that of the musicians who have surrounded you and your mates. It is like being able to speak with the owner of information that is a great legacy for humanity and it should be collected and explained before going to the other side. If you're really Justin, you'll understand all this I'm telling you. If you are another person, nothing happens, be as happy as possible while you are on this planet and do not harm anyone as you would not like them to do to you. Let's see what you answer me ... if you answer!

I was just a teenager when I was introduced to the Moodies by my Jr. High English arts school teacher (1978). I checked out a greatest hits record from a library. While playing it at home, my mom heard it and instantly loved the music. Years later, my father passed away in 1995. My mom was playing Driftwood one day. It stopped me in my tracks. I had to sit down and listen for awhile. I know that my mom was missing my dad. Her playing that song rekindled my love for the group's music. I won an online auction for a complete cd set of all of the Moodies music up to The Keys of the Kingdom. They are my go to music to destress. Thank you for the music! ❤️
