Fun fact: On the original recording, Ray Thomas' flute part is doubled by Mike Pinder playing the mellotron in flute mode, giving it all a fuller sound.

Justin sang this song beautifully. I love this version the best to which I have ever seen and heard. His songs are timeless. I would rather listen to the Moodies and Justin than any other singer now or in the past. He sings this song with true love and devotion. I get so emotional hearing him sing "Oh Darling, you are a part of me" and "you're all I ever see." He had me at the "Oh Darling" many years ago. Of course his voice was lower then. He is such a romantic person and would have to be. I think this song comes from the struggles of two people in love but are separated due to the entertainment business. It must be hard. I could never do it. I miss my husband when he is on another piece of land farming/harvesting the crops. This song brings those emotions to the front and I miss him more. The words are so powerful. I am ever grateful for the kindness of Justin for uploading past performances on KZbin. I have many favorites from other people uploading old concerts. But Justin's picks are special, because I have never seen these before. We all so enjoy his performances. He is a great singer, songwriter, & guitar player, but most of all, he is a humble person who cares for his devoted fans. I hope he keeps these videos up for us to return to when we need an appearance of Justin for a bit in our lives.

This is another all-time favorite, so glad to hear it here :-) I have always loved Moodies music, but have only begun to really study what youtube has to offer about the band. In an interesting convergence I happened to be reading the Higher & Higher "fanzine" issues and was on #38 which has an article about the SJC concerts and then #39 which has a review of the Video and CD of this as Justin began posting these performances. So far they have been posted in order of the concert set list, except that "Children of Paradise" is listed as following "Blue Guitar" and it hasn't dropped on the Flashback Friday presentations yet. For those of you that joined the in-depth interest in all things Moody only recently --- like me --- I highly recommend reading the archived issues of H & H. I especially like the retrospectives on the making of the individual albums done from interviews of people involved with their production. Thanks for sharing these for those of us that couldn't be there at the time.

... Hmm, for me, this particular live captured rendition of The Actor shows Justins' voice in his full flight best. My favourite Moodies album is EGBDF and I was peaking on a purple micro dot the first time I heard it. Played it 4 times in a row and it just kept sounding better than it previously did, which, consequently, compelled me to have to go out and buy it ...
