Just watched the entire video and it was AMAZING! As a 49 year old web developer there are so many things that resonated with me. Thanks so much for your honesty and bravery!

I was once that 20-something kid in a tech company, who couldn't understand why the hell this 30-something colleague of mine was sullen all-day long. Now being the oldest guy (still a coder) in a seed-round startup, I totally get it. Thank you, Justin, for speaking my heart out, and say hi to Jon Buda

Such a great talk. This conversation is important. A feeling that many people feel, but may not always speak about with peers. Let's all change that together. And don't be afraid to ask for help.

Thanks for this great video Justin! It really hit home for me. Personally, I think being in the throws of parenting and working in a startups really increases your thoughts of failure as you are tired and not doing your best. However, on the outside people think you are amazing, it just feel that way. I’m not one to go down easy, so I started exercising, meditation and now I’m beginning therapy. I got a ways to go, but I am now accepting and appreciating all the small incremental successes and moments with my kids that get me down the road. I also just put in a solid 8-9hrs (vs 50-60+ hour weeks) and have a lot more energy. Now, at 46, I’m finally in the deep code, understanding and making stuff work. It’s really making me happy and empowered. Codementor has been an amazing resource for me as I live in mountains in CA. I can get help on any specific question from AWS, to JS to Rails.

@mijustin shared many points that resonated with me. Addressing anxiety, depression, or other detrimental mental behaviors is something we all have to work through in one degree or another. It's how we become a better person. Excellent talk!

Easily my favorite session at Laracon VII. This 37 year old developer really needed to hear @mijustin's words and I hope they benefitted others too. Somebody was cutting onions up in the back row.

Loved the talk, and particularly the part about needing to refactor (or 'defrag') one's own life occasionally. I've been giving this a lot of thought, and recently decided to retire from the 9-5 and do my own thing. A lot of what Justin discussed resonated with me. I watched the channel to improve my code. May well end up improving my life. Thanks Justin.

Thanks Mark! The refactoring / defragging analogy is something I've been thinking about a bunch too.
