I give a lot of credit to Marty who has brought Justin to a level of dance where many dancers takes years to achieve. Marty is a very talented choreographer who I've known before be was famous growing up in Dallas. He's still a force in the dance community to be reconed with.

He's better than an average singer. Once again, his pitch is very, very good and his tone is decent. Most people don't sing that well in all the terrible little situations that live performing likes to put you in. Also, he was marketable from day one. Certainly was marketable before the Super Bowl thing. You have to be famous to even be the half-time act at the Super Bowl. Anyone who's as famous, or even as close to famous as he is HAS an OUTSTANDING "team".

@harrana2007 On a final note, Justin writes a lot of his songs without help from Timbaland and The Neptunes. The Neptunes were on about three, maybe four tracks from his first album. As for Timbaland, I'd like to point out that on Timbaland's albums, his best (and most selling) tracks are the ones with Justin in them. I'm not some hardcore JT fan. I actually don't like most of his music, but I do have a lot of respect for him. He's a very talented songwriter and a pretty good vocalist.

Keep in mind, too, that the reason guys like Timbaland took the job of collaborating with the JT empire is because, not only is there serious money behind it, but Timbaland isn't marketable enough by himself. Those people working with JT are better for it just like JT is better for having them. Still though, if it wasn't them...it would be someone else.

Just realize that all these questions you're posing about JT....means you have to ask the same the about MJ, or practically anyone else out there. Unless maybe you're talking about someone like Rush, or Disturbed who practically do everything themselves from the ground up. Even then, they have producers, publicists, crews, etc...Point is, JT is good at what he does. Got news for you, even MJ would approve.

What does he do that's good? Well, for one thing, he's actually a good singer. His pitch is usually always spot on, even on the shows that aren't pro-tools, and pitch corrected. He doesn't have my favorite vocal style...but it's alright. He definitely gets what he goes for, though. That's the art. Whether it be spot on pitch, or just making millions of girls scream. He gets what he's going for....that's the art. He also play other instruments decently well. Well enough, anyway.

Actually, from what I've seen...he seems pretty non-arrogant...considering. He seems to have a sense of humor about himself. One more thing...hardly anyone you listen to writes their own songs these days. Pop music is largely too corporate. Hell, even classical and Jazz musicians play works that were written by others. You said Prince was good at what he does...I'm saying so is JT. Differences is JT doesn't get revered unwarrentedly for his genius. Hence...he's not overrated.

Your questions...yes, I think Justin would be as big even if he hadn't dated Britney and, as I mentioned, (the people who dump money into the JT empire...record companies) would see to it that he got anyone he needed to further the cause. So, if it wasn't Timbaland, Neptunes and Wade...it would be someone else. Perhaps Nile Rogers, or someone. Even if Britney did give him a jumpstart...who cares's? Everyone got a start somewhere. Christ, it's not like he wasn't famous before his solo career

Overrated would be him winning an Oscar for his acting skills, or having a bunch of skilled musicians constantly talking about what a genius he is. He doesn't receive any acclaim of the sort. People just (except for maybe the screaming girls) realize he is what he is. A pop star who is very talented. Prince, Dave Mathews, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana..those people are overrated because they get serious acclaim. Also, who cares if he's arrogant?

Untrue. He's actually very good at what he does. Yes, Michael is a huge influence...but Mike is a huge influence on everyone. You have to go pretty far to find someone who wasn't influenced by Mike. Justin would be famous and doing well with any team. They're just hired hands.

Again, I'm not a JT fan. If by "team" you mean his song-writers and management...yes, he needs them, but he then would have new song-writers and management appointed until they got the job done. Hired. But, that's true of anyone. Everyone needs publicists, marketing people, producers, crew...etc. Just like MJ did. MJ was very talented, as well. People looked up to him because of it. But, so is JT, that's all I'm saying. By the way, those other artists I've mentioned ARE overrated. : )

I know exactly what you mean. I think overrated is a bit strong of a word. "Dick in a box" went a long way with me because it showed that he doesn't take himself too seriously and it proved what I suspected. He (not just his agents) knows exactly what he's doing. He knows where his fan base lies and he knows how to cater to it. If you have good looking women in your audience, you have everything (in terms of commercial success). I want to hate him, but I can't because he does have talent.

@harrana2007 Well, as a Michael Jackson fan, even I have to say he looks very average next to Fred Astaire. The thing is, the people you are talking about have different focuses. Fred focused on dancing. Michael Jackson was the ultimate entertainer, but there were some things he didn't do as well as others. For one, out of all his albums, only 50% of the songs are truly his. And you can't possibly say he had a terrific singing voice.

Don't get me wrong, I think MJ is the greatest entertainer of all time, but there are certain things he didn't do quite as well as others. MJ was very dance oriented. he can't dance. his neck is so stiff. compare him to the dancer to his (jt's) rear left. look at jt's upper body and neck and then this guy. jt has the timing down correctly and the basic motions. but his neck is stiff as fuck and so is his upper body. it makes him look like a white guy dancing at a club... it also makes him look like a guy who has been taught how to do the dance moves. not a guy who can actually dance. like jermaine vs michael.
