I'm a 69 year old grandma and a night owl. I came across your first video a few minutes ago and after watching it, I decided to watch this one too. Your jacket turned out to be absolutely darling. I've been sewing since I was 11 and I think you have the gift like so many of us. Sewing relaxes me while I create something awesome that I love to wear. Take care and happy sewing!

I love sewing, knitting, crocheting - all of it. I think it helps with my anxiety because it forces me to slow my brain down and concentrate on the consistency of the stitches etc. Glad you enjoyed!

I love this process used for attaching the lining super easy . Bravo to your sewing machine that did such a great job sewing all those layers together.

Your disclaimer that you're not a professional seamstress is cute.. what you are doing is pretty complicated and the end result is fantastic thanks for taking time to share the project with us - really inspiring.

This was so much fun to watch. I always thought of sewing as some sort of wizardry. I was smiling and nodding my head while watching thinking I want to try this now. I’m gonna watch it again with my daughter and then we are going to see something together ! Excellent video ⚡️

I'm impressed by your pattern making skill. As well as your sewing. I started sewing when 14 in a tayloring factory making collage blazers. I'm 82 now still seeing although I ve had lots of other careers. But now retired I'm back to sewing for pin-money. Good luck in your career it's good to follow your video. I'm about to cut out my first blanket to jacket.😊

You did an awesome job! I got bitten by the sewing bug a few years ago and purchased the same HD Singer that you have. My first 2 clothing projects were a Wool Vest and a Canvas Anorak. Since then I've made several Hiking Kit Bags . I really want to upgrade my Machine to an Industrial version to make a Heavy Duty Backpack. I have already sketched out my design. I will "Sub" and check out your other videos.

thank you! The singer HD is my go-to machine, but I also have an alert on FB Marketplace for industrial Juki's - my dream machine :)

Great one! It makes me wanna get a sawing machine for myself and learn to use it. I didn’t think it was possible to go through that many fabric layers at once, but it definitely looks like alignment is tricky

It wasn't so bad! The blanket material is thick, but compressed down ok. My singer HD did ok with everything, I didn't even break a needle, but it's always a possibility, so just be careful! Good Luck!

Amazing! The only small thing I would add is trimming away the rest of the excess seam allowance in the collar to reduce the stiffness.
@JustineSilva Жыл бұрын
For sure! It helps to 'notch' the allowance around the arm holes for more movement too :)

LU FLAT SLEEVE SEWING‼️ Basically you sow one scene of your sleeve and leave the whole thing flat and before you put your vest part of your jacket together you'll actually sew so one big continuous seen down I learned this while making doll clothes FLAT SLEEVE SEWING

Could you hand sew this?
@JustineSilva2 жыл бұрын
I'd definitely recommend a sewing machine for this.
@bill41237 ай бұрын
It's definitely possible but would be slow going. The benefit of learning by hand is mistakes happen a lot slower so you can fix them earlier. Pinning and basting are very important with hand stitching because it's very easy for the pieces to shift around.
