If you omit cereal until after your "goo" melts, it is easier. It melts more quickly. The cereal stays crunchier if you fold in at the end. Your ingredients look delish! 😋

This is crock pot smores. 😊 It looks like a lot of fun to make & eat but for a diabetic it would be a nightmare.😢 If you substitute graham crackers for cereal there would be less carbs which means less sugar. The dark chocolate is a good choice for it's intense flavor and reduced fat content. The large marshmallows look cool but it might be easier to mix up with the smaller ones and it would make it easier to reduce the amount used and reduce calorie intake. As a diabetic I always look at a recipe for fat and sugar content. If I can tweak the recipe on fat & sugar by reducing those amounts than I can enjoy the desert with less guilt. This option also helps those who are obese and trying to loose weight or for those who just want to maintain their weight. Happy eating!😊

You really don't need a crockpot to do this. It can all be done on the stovetop. You just need a good sized soup pot or Dutch oven (non-stick works best, but you can grease a regular pot with butter or non-stick spray). Also, melting the chocolate, jumbo marshmallows, butter and evaporated milk first, over medium low heat will only take 10 to 15 minutes. When those ingredients are fully melted and combined, add in the cereals and mini marshmallows, etc. and mix it all up well. You can then scoop the mixture out onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and put them in the fridge for a couple of hours. You could even put the mixture into a 13" × 9" baking pan, spread it out as evenly as you can and after the whole thing is set, cut it into squares like you would with rice krispie treats. Of course, they won't look like "cow patties" (which these treats are called) but they'll be just as delicious! 😊
@shawn7384 Жыл бұрын

That looks pretty amazing. It's prefect for fall & pumpkin weather. I'm thinking about a substitution with a different kind of cereal. Other than that everything else works well with my family's taste buds. Here's a little tip. Someone else may have mentioned the need for using Parchment paper. It will be your new best friend in the kitchen.. All you needa do id just line any pan with the paper. From a cake & loaf pan to a sheet pan. Wax paper can also be used as a liner when making this particular cookie. But other stuff they won't stick to your pan. Clean up will be a breeze & sometimes there's no need to even wash a pan. I've used parchment paper forever cuz my Mom always did. I use it on just about everything . If bake cookies & cakes to a meat loaf.. It''s so much easier & a big time saver . Things will lift out whatever you've baked in a loaf pan. Breads are so easy from banana to zucchini basically anything moist that like to cling to the sides & bottom. Use for meat loaves they lifts right out every time.. No sticking & stuff breaking apart anymore. Just try using & you'll wonder why no one had ever shared it's many uses. 😊

Okay... first... line your pan with parchment. 2nd.. yes grease your crock pot.. or pot on the stove, and melt your chocolate and butter and milk first. It only takes a few minutes. (You can use half n half or regular milk. Just maybe a half cup) I might suggest a tad less evap milk. 3. After you have all that.. Then add your marshmallows. I would suggest the big mellos not the jumbo. And I would suggest a bit LESS marshmallow in the mixture. Because I think that might be why your chocolate didn't harden. 4. Once your mellows have melted into the chocolate mixture THEN add your cereal. (Might want yonput a bit more cereal). Nuts, colored m n ms , coconut, etc. 5. Once your cereal is mixed in. THEN add your minni mellows last as you did. (Might I suggest the colored mini marshmallows fir Easter or Christmas 😊) 6. Scoop like you did and refrigerate. And they should come out a little harder for you. I know you kids want to keep doing this one pan, "dump" in and forget it all the time. But it just doesn't always work the best that way. .. the steps I put above should not take more than 5 or 6 minutes to put together. Then chill time of course. 😊
