Hail Mary is a reference to a Hail Mary Pass in American Football, where the team thats down by one point up against the timer, throws the ball far down the field with a hope and a prayer that the guy catches it and makes it to the touchdown or at least a first down. It’s a hope and a prayer in the face of adversity. Completed hail mary passes that have won the game in the last second of a timer are incredibly exciting.

Some interesting stuff about this band and video. I was in a band in Portland Oregon in the late 80's and through the 90's. Dandy's opened up for a band I was in when they started out at some rock clubs in Portland area. The other interesting thing is the ship in the video. The New Carrissa ran aground during a storm and broke apart in Coos Bay and sat on the beach for years and was eventually salvaged but large sections were there for a long time. Not many outside of Oregon would remember or know about that ship. Glad these guys are still at it!!!!!

Bro, I love what the Dandies have been doing recently. I went and saw them live in Chicago last year, and they were really good, as I haven't been following them as much as BJM. When i saw this Slash song come out, the video was awesome, and the main fuzzy riff reminds one of vintage Smashing Pumpkins.... Slash is a beast and, it's a beast of a song/video. Not only are the Dandies creating good music these days, I also saw BJM last year in Cincy. In the past, Anton of BJM sabatoged his band and record deals over and over again in the 90's early 2000's. Eventually he finally got it together after moving to Germany, and started seeing some success and movies and hbo series wanting his music. A lot of times as bands and people get older, they get less creative and lose the magic. But the most recent Brian jonestown Massacre album "the future is your past" is maybe one of the best albums he has ever made. I always loved the older stuff like "their Satanic majesties second request" and my old favorite was "strung out in heaven", the album that matt hollywood had to finish because anton was so bad off on H. But this newest album is special, I suggest everyone take a listen.

I loved this, beautiful, powerful guitar sound, hypnotic drum beat, put me in mind of Kashmir in that respect. The song did not call for any drum frills, the steady beat was all it needed with the snare trills adding that touch of movement.... Constant, carrying the music. I don't know this band, but I'm glad to have heard them now.. Slash as a guitarist is very talented, this partnership works superbly. Amazing video, visually emotive and surreal, but I'm not a great fan of AI, I don't like where it may take Humanity.
