Like many of us Australians, the first time I saw Southern River Band live was at your gig at the Enmore Theatre last year. I was totally blown away by this band and I've seen them play several times since. They instantly brought to the mind the classic rock and roll I grew up on (many decades ago). I'm old enough to be their grandma, but every time they play near me you will find me in the front row dancing my Docs off. Thank you so much for bringing this wonderful band to my attention.

This has Thin Lizzy absolutely written all over it at the beginning of the song - Are you ready (to rock)?? Also shades of Zeppelin's Rock And Roll. Then it moves into that bluesy groove. Pure class. Been a long lonely time for a band like this for sure! Love it!

Great band tho, what memories of listening to Take the Long Line in 78'-80' in a club we used to frequent in Lekeitio, a small fishing village in the Basque Country. Cal is a pretty good guitarist and singer for a drummer. Cal is a freak can play every instrument at a super high level and also one of the funniest people in the world. live this band crush every time
@simonilett998Ай бұрын
I was going to say pretty much the same thing (not only can Cal sing and play guitar, he's a pretty mean little drummer too, although a little un-orthodox with his technique)🤣 I had the privilege to jam with him a couple of times about 12-14yrs ago at his place. Me and a few of my band members went there for his parents weekly Tues night blues club jams. Cal also came to plenty of our gigs before he had a band, under age of course, I think we were a bad influence😁. At the time, Cal was already super talented and a fkn funny dude, still in high school, same age as my nephew, both went to the same school. Great to see him out there kicking ass and rocking the planet nowadays👍👌🤘🇦🇺

Fucking love it!! I’m off to see them ASAP! Thanks mate. Please tell me that this is the sign of bands to come, we’ve missed this entertainment and talent it’s been gone far too long. Cheers

Bands to come? There’s been an unbroken of bands that sound like this from the 70s until today. Just go listen to more music

Thank you Justin for introducing me to a local band \m/ Now to go and see them live!
That slow blues towards the end was a direct quote from the solo on AC/DC's The Jack.

I will DEFINITELY be checking them out! I've had a bad stomach bug all day and been puking out my entire insides and I don't even care now 😀 I'm happy again!
@SuziQ.10 ай бұрын
I’m sorry that you’re sick. Puking is so unpleasant and violent and I hate that feeling. Do you have any ginger beer (not alcoholic), ginger ale, or ginger tea?
@MariaFrancesca10 ай бұрын
@@SuziQ. Thank you! 🧡 It's the absolute worst! ☹🤮 It started at three in the morning yesterday and not until about 12 hours later was I able to keep some light soup down. I didn't have any ginger ale or ginger tea, is ginger good for that sort of thing? I had medicinal charcoal, it seemed to help some. Justin's videos airs at 6 pm here and I was so exhausted I stayed up only for that and then went straight to bed 😅 Still a bit weak today, but I think it's over.

@@MariaFrancesca , Ginger ale helps. Ginger beer is stronger. I think it helps more. There’s not much you can do except try to stay hydrated until you can eat saltines. Pediolyte, or some kind of electrolyte drink can help restore the electrolytes you lost. I know it’s the worst. I prefer pain over nausea, if I’m going to feel like shite. I hope it’s over, and you feel better. 💙
@MariaFrancesca10 ай бұрын
@@SuziQ. I do feel better today, though stomach is still not really onboard with solid food. I found some fluid replacement fizzy tablets at the back of my medicine drawer. I'll try those and buy some ginger ale to have in stock for future problems! I'd prefer that, too! This was like... half the time you thought you were gonna die, and the other half you wished you would die 😅
@SuziQ.10 ай бұрын
@@MariaFrancesca , I’ve been there. It really is worse than migraines or chronic back pain or a broken bone. The charcoal probably helped. What type do you buy? It’s probably something I should keep in the house, just in case.

Another newer genuine rock band is Dirty Honey. Saw them open for Alter Bridge once and then twice since. 🎶🤘

They toured with Wolf during the Young Guns tour. I should have stayed for their set. 😢

These guys are awesome ! Agree with everything you say Justin. Class. Right near the end I can hear Foo's... in where you say the drummer accentuates it. Thank you for introducing me to these guys, I will be looking them up ! Love you x (ps, I am from Hayes, and know the Beck Theater very well, so gutted I missed out on seeing you there, my Sister was there though, said you were amazing ) x

Thank you Justin for introducing me to yet another deadly band! I knew this song was reminding me of another song that I love, I think it's Are You Ready? by Thin Lizzy. Another fantastic band, I'm proud that my Dad took inspiration from them when choosing a name for his only daughter lol
