I'm 64, it's fun to watch hairstyles cycle through history. Hair styles are never really "new"
@justinhickox19 сағат бұрын
EXACTLY!!!! That's why I get so frustrated with the names. It's like stylists try to take a style that's been around for decades and slap some silly name on it so they can call it their own...and a "new trend"! LMAO

I like the wolf cut but i like the gray hair photos because mine is naturally growing out with whiter in front and staying darker gray towards sides and back

I love looking at hair styles. My favorite is the full fringe piecey layers. But I know it’s more work than I care to put in. I have stick straight hair that won’t curl for me. I keep it healthy and get compliments on it.

I have shoulder length silver curls, cut into a modern shag with curly bangs. I was naturally a brunette who used to dye my hair auburn then blonde when I started to grey then gave up the colouring entirely. I get stopped by strangers telling me they love my curls and the colour of my hair. I have many shades of grey and white. My sister is a hairstylist so when the top of my hair starts looking too white, she puts in slate and sliver lowlights to keep the dimension.

Hey Justin and Dionna! Awesome review and actually love several of the options. Totally loving the long layers (pretty much what I have - but needs some "shaping") and a more modern shag. Being "polished" is not something I strive for often. I need simple, quick (well, as quick as I can be without looking like I'm out to scare someone), carefree (like the hard work is natural lol!) and fun.

Thanks for hanging out today! I love that idea! I actually do videos exactly like that! I've done probably over 50-60 or more of them so far and I'm starting back up again now. They're called "Hair Mistakes that Age You Faster". Yeah, I hate the name too but I gotta use what works. I take emails from subscribers. They send in photos and descriptions of their hair struggles. I walk through the concerns I see with their hair, how they can fix those concerns and what it would look like if they did. Then some options for hairstyles that I think would be flattering and work with what they mention in their email. If you want to be considered for an upcoming video, here's a link you can submit your email with. justinhickox.myflodesk.com/hairmistakes

Wispy layers make your hair thinner. Blunt layers are precision make your hair fuller you aren’t cutting into the weight line
@justinhickox14 сағат бұрын
Absolutely agree as long as you blend those blunt layers out a bit. Otherwise, my concern is they can show weight lines and choppy. For me, the benefit is outweighed by the concern considering there are so many other ways to create the illusion of density in thinner hair. I really appreciate your insight though!!! Thanks for hanging out today and sharing that.

Happy me! Not a bob video! I learn something every video you post so it's not a complaint, but this is the video I've been waiting for... 68, don't want gray. 68, don't want short hair. 68, no bob for me, it gives me a mushroom look and just not a fan for myself. 68, thinning at top. 68, hair seems more dry. I loved all of the looks with long, past the shoulders styles. I have a ton of thick wavy restored red hair on the rest of my head. The longer I wear it the more control I have but I need layering too. Such a confuzzled-hair grandma...I have bangs that I brush to the side so they look like they're longer... So how do I tell my hairdresser to add back layers and make it look like style at 1:55? And how is there lift like that on the crown? And I like you snarky Dionna!

Ok, but those examples of 'grey' hair were really cool. First time, I've even felt remotely tempted to go down that road. I have random layers of Henna+Indigo and black box dye in my hair, though, so no colorist would touch me with a 10 foot pole, I think 😆.

I wore my naturally brunette and wavy hair in a blunt bob for 3 years at various lengths. LOVED it. Then one day….hated it. Now my hair is back to warm brunette and long layers - got my wave working again for me. (I haven’t updated my photo yet.) Would LOVE a tutorial on how to do side swept bangs!!! I love the look and don’t want to grow out bangs again. They are at my lips length. I love it when there is some lift and the long bang sweeps across my left eye. But…it doesn’t “stay”. Thank you!!! Love your vids! ❤

I love love love the ombré. I got a pixie cut…..1 to cut off the processed blonde I’ve been growing out and expose my beautiful silver/gray hair and 2. I thought….thought I wanted/needed a change. (Damn menopause). Now I dont like it, I wicked miss my medium length hair . This haircut is wearing me. I am not wearing it. I’m trying but….😕 Sooooo ive been searching your channel for videos on hair extensions. I’ve never heard you talk about them at all, is it a yay or a nay for you? My daughter is getting married in 8 months and I definitely want this look gone, I feel like I’ve got a helmet on. And I feel like I look old! I’m only 53! The reason I decided to let my gray shine through is because my hair grows soooo damn fast. I felt like I was constantly at the salon$$$. At least I’ve got the fast growing hair going for me. Lol. Are you and Dionna taking a trip to the Boston area soon??? Say June /July of 2025? Lol. I’de love a consult with you on what to do next with my hair. I would love a new pair of eyes and a fresh new perspective. I definitely don’t want this hairstyle for my daughter’s wedding. If I can figure out how to send you a picture I will. Lol. Thank you both for all that the two of you do. Love everything ❤🫶🏻🙏🥰. Cindi Hanson

I love Dionnas hair. Does she have any layering? I have a blunt cut with texture but it looks bottom heavy and without straightening it looks triangular. Suggestions on cut? It’s about an inch and a half below my chin.

I agree all the crazy names of hairstyles are silly and few are memorable. Many are the same, just a different color or length. But the good news is we have way more options now than ever. Remember buying hairstyle magazines at the grocery store? So limiting then.

Both of you are awesome!! I have thin curly hair. Mostly curly when just done (with curl product) when my hair dries, i feel it looks poor, and dry thin. Aging and getting thinner. Let my stylist go all the way layering for the curls. Bad decision 😢 Growing it out. When i use my brush dryer...my hair separates 😮 thin and yucky😢 fast!! No movement 😢 Help advice!! Hair is touching shoulder, afraid to cut because of layers...
@justinhickox19 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much! You're awesome! Sorry to hear about the hair struggles. It's tough to give good advice without seeing you and your hair. I do have a video coming out next week about how to dry thin hair to make it look thicker. It may help. It's more geared to drying hair straight (since my model had straight hair) but there are some aspects that are true for diffusing hair curly as well.

I have natural silver, wavy hair that I can straighten with a round brush if I want. I have had a bob for years, but now I am growing it out to a lob for a different look and more styling options. Since I have fine, thick hair the inside layers sound perfect for my next cut. How exactly are they cut?

There's not the huge differences in styles today as I remember from the past. Remember the 'Purdey' cut ? ! Oh and the Page Boy lol today's styles much more forgiving .

I have thin scandinavian hair. I have the sleek and straight hairstyle - out of necessity. No matter what I do to style my har, it takes up to around 2-3 hours to get back to a messy version of that. (I had a perm, and redone 2 times in a month and ended up with the weirdest dry spaghetti on my head...-and then back to this) Do you have any suggestions for a "long" hair look, that would be able to be something different?
