Great video concept! Would love sound samples of a finished board and a build sequence to truly lift it to the next level. Love your channel mate!😁👏

Sadly making all of these boards for these videos would be too costly and time consuming! I'd love to but just isn't really in the cards! And thank you 🙏🏻

i'd love to see a video where you analyze how he uses the ce-1 preamp over the years and how he uses the volume on his pedals. it's hard to see in the grainy photos of the older years, but there's one from stadium arcadium era where he's in low impedance with the volume down, and was likely using high output pedals like maxed out DS2. the high impedance doesn't work well with high output, clips heavily and makes wah sound weird (in my experience). but now he's using his pedals at roughly equal output to his guitar or a slight boost, and has switched to high mode on the ce-1. it's definitely worth an analysis since it took me a while to figure out how to use the ce-1 preamp! and also video showing how his gear has evolved and changed including settings!!@

The one Chorus by Grobert effects is a good alternative of the Boss CE-1. I bought mine earlier this year and i am very happy with it. The Pedal is build in Poland and they offer worldwide shipping. You can also find some comparison videos on KZbin.

Awesome video! I would also choose similar pedals, considering we hypothetically got two marshall amps and don‘t have to invest in that haha I would go with these pedals which I either looked up or bought at this price: Boss DS-2: 60€ A germanium fuzzrite style pedal (I bought the Triungulo Lab JF Fuzz, I just love the combo of the DS-2 and this one, very good for the Stadium Arcadium Era sound): 135€ Ibanez WH10V3: 120€ MXR Micro Amp: 60€ (really great for pushing your amps a little harder for things like can‘t stop etc.) DOD fx67 stereo chorus: 75€ (I managed to get one used for under 100€, sounds great and also does the stereo thing) Tc Electronic Reverb: 45€ I also think the ce-1 preamp isn‘t that necessary if you know your way around it, of course every geek (including me) uses it, but I think it‘s not that necessary when you‘re working with a budget like that. Great vid ✌🏼

I would love to see some more tone samples of your John Mayer rig, given you have all the two rock, original centaur ect, i rundown of your pedal board that you built paired with amp and silver sky ect, that would be really cool to see, and maybe some covers, Also I reckon you should build a John Frusciante pedal board build in person like your jm one maybe in the future

If I did that for every video like this it'd be way too expensive and time consuming, if I could I would! Just isn't super practical! These videos are meant to help give ideas and things to look further into if you are looking to build around the same budget!

What's your opinion on the best fuzz pedal with the most versatility to cover all of his Chili Peppers albums? I have a Boss FZ-1W because I was mainly shooting for the Off The Map DVD tone, and I think he used a Boss fuzz in the Californication tour. But I'm not 100% happy with it and was thinking of swapping it with a Big Muff Nano.
@RedHotChiliRiffs2 жыл бұрын
John used the Boss FZ-3 from 1999 until February 2000. He switched to the Russian Big Muff for the North American leg of the Californication tour so the sound you’re hearing on Off The Map is not the FZ-3 but the Big Muff.
@TedVoltolina2 жыл бұрын
@@RedHotChiliRiffs Thanks! Yeah I know he used the FZ-3 but I couldn't find one of those, so I got the FZ-1W. Good to know about the timeframe, I didn't know he used the Boss so briefly. I'm gonna have to buy a Big Muff and hear it in my rig to know for sure if I want to swap it.
@RedHotChiliRiffs2 жыл бұрын
@@TedVoltolina There are a few good pro shot concerts on KZbin where you can hear the Boss FZ-3. I would definitely recommend watching Bizarre Festival 1999. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y16no6ZuocqGnMk

v3 is not gona get you there and is a piece of shit, might as well get a crybaby and mod it
@JustinJeske2 жыл бұрын
That makes zero sense. Get a V3, then you could send it to Wilson Effects later on and have it modded. Then you have literally what John is using live. The V3 will do more than the job for someone on a tighter budget
@ToppaliniTube2 жыл бұрын
@@JustinJeske well mine broke and broke and broke, switch gave out, pot gave out, and they're hard to work on... they're just crappy china pedals. save and get a ten spot, i regret getting a v3 a lot. much better off getting a ten spot or a crybaby, i just got 4 crybabys to mod, they sound fine, much better than v3 but not actual v1
@ToppaliniTube2 жыл бұрын
I might try putting a new pot in my v3 but it's really hard to deal with.. after I got new switch from Ibanez, the pot got dirty and nothing will get it clean! but it's really a nightmare to work on these things. if anything goes wrong with your v3 you're screwed, other wahs are easy fixes.
@ToppaliniTube2 жыл бұрын
@@JustinJeske i should have been more clear what i mean is that the ibanez wahs are very low quality and difficult to work on. they aren't life time pedals like a decent crybaby, they're like the china made vox wahs but of even lower quality casing and mechanical parts.
@ToppaliniTube2 жыл бұрын
@@JustinJeske you should be more open to other opinions like when i said that fru was using the third high gain amp for intro jams and more than just those 2 songs and you just weren't having it for some reason. would have been an interesting discussion
