Good review! I hiked 600 km with this tent the GPT in Patagonia. Held up with no problems to rain, storms and some really high winds. Light, easy to set up, simplicity. On warm and humid nights just kept the door open for extra ventilation. And yes, because the tent is bigger, when I had condensation, I did not touch the walls, so no problem at all, just dry it the next day very quickly.

I like how you talk about the height of your setup including your personal dimensions because a lot of people don't think about how that affect contact with the tent depending on the tent design. I bought the 'standard' Lanshan 1 and sold it on before even using it, because although it looked really well made, the interior space was just too tight (and I'm not particularly tall at 5'11"). I bought the Pro version (in green) and the increase in interior space is amazing! Love this tent, which I've been using for 'stealth camping' in the woods during lockdown. One 'tip' if I may - The mesh surround needs to slope downwards from the top of the bathtub towards the ground, otherwise drips of condensation will cross the mesh and form puddles on the floor. This slope is tricky to get right, and is not possible if you have your pole set too high. Disagree with your asessment of the fabric change! 20D is just better, period, and a bit of seam-sealing didn't kill anyone. Despite your admirable use of it in snow etc, I still see this as a fairer-weather option, and will be sticking with my Hexpeak V4A in harsher conditions. But a sub-700g practical tent at this price? What's not to like?
@JustinOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Ya, my 20d gripe was pretty minor but I think the seam sealing will turn a lot of people off of it! People want turn key solutions. haha

I have the regular version. The best tent around for the money spent/weight ratio. 2weeks ago I was caught in a bad thunderstorm in the Uwharrie Mountains NC, we got 4inches of rain that night. I stayed 100% dry inside. There was literally a1inch river flowing under the tent, I had my shoes sitting on my z-seat under the vestibule, they were floating. I am interested in the pro version, I'll probably get it once something breaks on my current model. That might be awhile though, this thing is made pretty damn well.

I think they swapped to a 20 denier because of one issue with the 15 used on the "regular" Lanshans. When they get wet in sustained rain the regular Lanshans flies *really* sag, I mean *really*. I am fairly certain they got a few complaints about that issue so with the pro they were likely trying to limit this issue.

I have definitely noticed the sagginess, but the reason the pro doesn't is due to the silicone treatment. I imagine they could have done the same to a 15d.

Hey! I'm thinking of getting this tent as my first trekking pole tent. I was wondering how was the taxes and duties situation like ordering from aliexpress to Canada, how much could I roughly expect as extra costs? I know this is very subjective but thanks in advance!
@JustinOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I've probably ordered over 3 dozen things from Aliexpress over the last couple of years and have never paid import taxes, duties, or brokerage fees!

when you seam sealed it, did you seal both sides - the outer and the inner?
@JustinOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Just the outside :)

Would you recommend this one over the regular version?
@JustinOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I personally do like the Pro over the regular version. Roomier and a little more polished.

On the website, it shows a 3 season and a 4 season. Do you have the 3 or 4 season tent? Is the 4 season heavier?
@JustinOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
3 season works great for me. 4 season is heavier

Hi have you tried the Lanshan 1 Regular in snow and wind? What is your openion. I have to decide between regular and pro, I do quite a bit of hiking in snow in India and Nepal, so snow is important for me. Please advice
@JustinOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I have Hey! I've tried the regular Lanshan in wind but not snow. It held up great in wind. I imagine it'd do similarly well in snow. The tough part about snow is getting a good pitch for the tent.

I'm 6'4" tall and 275lbs, is it long and wide enough for ME to fully extend and not touch any walls? Very important because the last two small tents I tried failed :(
@JustinOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Unlikely to fit if you have a tall sleeping pad and quilt/sleeping bag.

@@JustinOutdoors Yeah, I went out of the gate strong. I had big plans of using that tent above the tree line this winter in the White Mountains......then the virus hit...now it is time to break it back out and get it in the mountains!

Great review Justin. It's very welcome to read reviews from people who have actually camped in the tent for many nights, rather than giving you their opinion after taking it out the packaging and pitching it in their garden. I had seen this tent on many websites but always thought it looked a bit flimsy. However l eventually bought it on the strength of your review. Have only been out in it twice but am very impressed. It rained hard on my first night but along with my gear l was bone dry in the morning. Condensation was no worse than in other tents lve owned but easily wiped down. Its very light, takes up little room in my rucksack, its relatively cheap, so what's not to like?

What size carbon pole did you by for this tent on aliexpress 112cm or 135cm trying to compare to lunar solo for bikepacking
@JustinOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I find as close to 125cm as possible is best! I think mine is 126cm.

The 1 Pro is a chinese copy of the Lunar Solo, so same size.
