I use it on the EOS R when I’m bored of the modern/clinical/autofocus thing and just wanna have fun ;) I also recommend the Super Takumar 135mm f2.5 for mojo - even Kubrick used a modded version of it...

I had one of these lenses and it was a tank! I loved the parfocal, no focus breathing and the constant aperture. It produces a great image. But.... I guess I got unlucky because it was really really soft at 2.8 and the next stops. It was really unusable at those stops, and I wasn't pixel peeping it gave the image a straight up haze. And honestly I ended up selling it... Might buy it again someday

The lens definitely looks like a good one - I've had my eyes on it for years, but unless I can get price AND condition to both be good, which doesn't normally happen at the same time, I'll keep looking. So far I've gotten a Tokina 50-135/2.8, a Sigma 17-50/2.8, and a Tamron 28-75/2.8 ranging from a start of $186 in like new condition down to about $80 where other than a scratch requiring a 1.1-1.2x crop, minimum, it's in great condition acting as a 35-96/1.8(roughly). Out of those the Tokina is my FAVORITE and based on some of the qualities you mentioned being seen in some of their other pro lenses(like the one I have) I wouldn't be surprised if Tokina's involvement/co-operation ran deep. I'm glad to see high praise for the company - they engineered some beautiful kit and its sad to see them doing so poorly now.
