I can’t run at all due to arthritis but I joined a running club and found a group of slow walkers and we walk at the same time that the runners run and get overlap times where we meet. I get a lot of great benefits from my walking- (Base HR went from 80 to below 60) so just going walking with your family will be great!

I loved your Great American Farm Tour and I must say it made me cry and long for youth to do all those things again. I’m 76 years young and was one raised on a farm, and I remember the milk and cream a homemade butter and all the things made with cows milk. As a child I had to watch 17 head of cattle before I ever started school my sisters milk with my mother and dad and I watched my four-year-old brother while they milked. I have a .08 plot of land in the country and I have 17 hands and one rooster. I learned a lot about gardening that I did not know, and I will be trying those things this year. I really wish I had a cow but I haven’t got enough land to support a cow. I really enjoy watching you show I watch every episode faithfully and covered every minute you are on your farm with your children. You both are so blessed and the things you’re teaching your children are absolutely essential. Thank you so much for your KZbin show and for the others that you have recommended that I watch too.

Absolutely love your families daily adventures on the farm!! Such an inspiration to young people who are willing to learn about agriculture, purchase 20 acres or more, and start a family farm. I’m 70, grew up on a dairy farm in MI. It’s hard work but very rewarding. Raising your own organic food, running barefoot, riding a cow (mine was named Nevada) then she dried up and we had to butcher her. Was tough but that’s farm life. I inherited the family farm, 4th generation. Our family is enjoying fun on the farm! It’s staying in the family 2 more generations! Happy New Year 🎉God Bless

My Dad was a WWII vet and dealt with depression and what we'd call today PTSD. He also got depressed when he was dealing with the aftermath of a stroke and later a heart attack. But he was old school and didn't ever talk about it or want to show emotion around the kids or seem less than strong. I think it means a lot when you share how things affect you emotionally and can talk honestly with your family.

Because my step daughter contracted lyme years ago in the 90s, I am diligent in the spring through the fall re ticks. She's had problems re her gums and teeth, most of all. While I haven't researched, I'd like to think there is a remedy. In my heart, I know this was a conjured up thing with the ticks. Plum Island. Lyme, Connecticut. Migration of animals. These ticks now in the northeast and the southeast. Glad you found your brush, Rebekah. Your whole family is just a joy to follow. Thank you, and may you all have a blessed and fruitful year coming.

I do it occasionally, but my day to day life isn't as physically demanding as yours so I can rest. Anything in the water is really good for chronic pain - swimming, water aerobics etc. I dunno if you have a pool near you. I also think it's important to keep up your 'solo time' as you put it - people need time alone to process.

Justin- I very much understand your depression on what Lyme took away. In 2012, lupus started affecting my heart and I had to quit working as an RN. So, I lost my health and my ability to work, plus anything fun that I enjoyed. Then my fiancé died from lung cancer too.. By 2015 I didn’t want to live anymore. I struggled so hard to get myself out of that depression with the help of a new doctor. Since then I have had to have a pacemaker and both knees replaced and am still struggling with the last one done 6 months ago. I never give up but it’s tough sometimes. I am 61 but people say I look in my 40’s. I feel like 80! Bless you and your family. Watching your vlogs for yrs now brings me joy. Tell Becky to get The Wet Brush. Order on Amazon. You’ll never want another type again. Good for fine blonde tangly hair too. Doesn’t pull!

Justin, I had Carpal Tunnel surgery in February, 2017. Ended up with a Stalp infection, then Osteomyelitis, and then Sepsis. I was in a Coma for 6 days...nerve damage in my right leg, my right foot just dangles, as I can not move it. My behind was totally numb...still is 50%. So, I went from a truck driver to disabled in 90 days, lost my home, too. Believe me, I understand Depression. And, there are other things wrong, too. I did get benefits, but, sold my home...with 0 profit. I had to use my credit line to pay for heat, food, help to pack. While I was in rehabilitation..I couldn't even stand up and walk, I met some folks that were in terrible conditions...a musician who had Sepsis...he lost both legs below the knee, all the fingers on his primary hand. He was 42. Only his faith sustained him. Only my faith sustains me. It is amazing just how much we can bare.

I wasn't a runner, but I used to walk everywhere and my work kept me very active. Now that I'm thinking 🤔 about it, since I haven't been as active my depression has gotten worse. Thanks for the wake-up call to pay attention to..the more active I am each day will hopefully lower my depression and pain. I've recently just started walking/jogging again and after looking at ur video I started thinking 🤔..I haven't been in as much pain, or feeling as fatigued as I was about a week ago. You answered a massive question for me: the dopamine. When I moved to this little white box, I never thought I'd still be here three years later but I had a pal to keep me company. We walked far and wide. She learned she was not going to die if she jumped off the dock but she never liked it or swimming. She was difficult to train, because at 4 she'd never been trained, not even sit. Since my Shepherd was put down three months ago, I've lost my way in some aspect. It is time to prepare for another pal to go adventuring with me. Thank you for your transparency. And your son's query about your loss of running ability: key moment. Love that young master builder.

I found an all natural plant based coffee and capsule combo (keto, vegan friendly) that has helped me tremendously with inflammation and helped balanced my dopamine hormone, and 3 other very important hormones. I have dealt with inflammation from my joints to IBS. I no longer run to the bathroom after eating. I no longer have to cry trying to open my hands in the morning. My neck isn’t stiff. I broke my leg/ankle 2 years ago I could hardly walk the pain, swelling, inflammation, up until last year. The circulation has never been better. You would never know I had surgery on it. If you look close enough you see the faint scare. And the best part...weight loss done naturally. I’m am so happy and healthy at 58, it’s been along time. ❤️ love your video’s Justin and you kiddos are going to do great things when they are grown just like there parents. 👍

I was a competitive figure skater for over 20 years (started skating at 3, stopped competing at age 25, and stopped skating and coaching completely at 35). At my peak I was on the ice 20 hours per week plus cross training with weights, dance, off ice training, running, etc. I know a lot of figure skaters who quit cold turkey when they go to college and in addition to the stresses of moving out and starting a new life with strangers, they go through a depression that is probably more related to withdrawl from the sport. It's even more severe for the elite athlete who's entire life was dedicated to the sport with no focus on any other aspect. There are too many Olympians who have committed suicide after retiring from their sport. Apollo Anton Ohno and Sasha Cohen and others are trying to develop a support network for those athletes. In addition to the dopamine drop, they gave up, not a part of their life at retirement, but what was essentially their entire lifes focus up to that point. It can be devastating and crushing. I was lucky. I was able to slowly cut back. I skated less, but was still able to skate some and compete some through college and a few years after. I was also coaching and able to play around on the ice myself for 10 years after that. It was almost harder to try to play around on the ice after 2 years of grad school when I didn't skate at all, mainly because I couldn't physically do what used to be easy to me (certain jumps and spins that I learned as a pre-teen had been lost). Realizing that I was at a point where I just couldn't put the time into maintaining a moderate level of competency finally brought me to the point of not enjoying it. That feeling of flying and pushing myself was exhilarating, but it is much easier to take the falls and endure the pain that comes with it when you are younger. I do miss that feeling, that rush, but at some point it is time to find a new trigger for those happy hormones, because there is always another route to that fulfillment. I hope you find yours with your family. ~Cyndy

I switched to to carnivore diet about a year ago. It’s like the fountain of youth. I effortlessly lost 20 lbs, gained the physique of a muscular 25 year old. It has cured my IBS which I struggled with all my life (I’m 50). ALL inflammation is gone. I’m in ketosis most of the time & it has magical healing effects. My health just keeps getting better. My newest thing is doing 30 pull-ups a day. It’s easy & you are almost there. After you stabilize, you can slowly reintroduce some vegetables. I eat almost exclusively high fat BEEF, I never tire of it. Look up SHAWN BAKER, KEN BERRY, and many others. January is World Carnivore Month, why no try in for 30 days and see how it can change your health. Good Luck buddy!

I so relate to the missing hairbrush! Or it could also be my missing favorite nail clippers, or my one and only favorite pair of tweezers. All of those things would constitute a major infraction if someone takes them . It's not just the ladies either. My father in law had a favorite brush that kept disappearing. One day he had enough and drilled a hole in the handle, put a string through and nailed it to the wall lol. Problem solved. Sounds like you may have a similar solution for Rebekah's. Justin I'm sorry your running is no longer an option for you. My son had issues with his feet and had to pretty much give up running also. This is the advice I gave him : We really weren't meant to run a lot anyway. Not many fast animals chasing us down in GA. You should only run if being chased by a dog, bear or wild bull. Otherwise walking and gentle exercise is good. He laughed at my reasoning but I'm sticking with it lol!! Have a blessed and Happy New Year!!

Justin, Justin, Justin...love the channel, love your family, love the farm...but I must speak up here. Listen carefully... 1) DO NOT put a wet chicken in a pan and stick it in the oven. (similarly, never cook ANY protein when wet--oven or stovetop). Ever. 2) DRY THOROUGHLY 2a) Even better--dry thoroughly and then air-chill uncovered in frig for 4-24 hours 2b) Even better...after drying, rub generously with salt, inside and out--then air-chill 3) Butter or oil before cooking is great. Take the time to rub the butter rather than laying it on and having it melt to the bottom of the pan. Follow this protocol for super-crispy skin. It'll work. I promise. 4) I always spatchcock, but you don't have to if you don't feel like it. Bon appetit!

Yes, Justin can you just try to do walks instead of running? I used to walk every day for at least 45 minutes & used that time to pray & sing...best therapy in the world. As you age you will have to make adjustments as well and you have to make a workout date with yourself to make it happen. I can't run (never could because of weak knees & shins) but walking at a brisk pace works best for me. Find something that you can do that won't cause pain and just make that "your" time. Trust me...you aren't alone; and yes we all need our feel good chemicals that a healthy brain produces. Even shut-ins need exercise. We just need to move & breathe for 20+ consistent minutes activate it (for me 20 minutes is the "good" beginning, 45 is perfect for me...an hour makes me tired. lol ...don't forget your cool down stretches :)

Finally, I got one with a hole in the handle, screwed an eye into the bathroom drawer, and attached it to the drawer with a piece of twine long enough for it to be able to be used in place. I never had to hunt for the hairbrush or hear someone complain if not being able to find it again. BTW, how are the glasses working out??

Thank you for sharing about your Lyme Disease. Do you know when and where you got bit? I suspect there are many people that suffer from undiagnosed Cronic Lyme Disease. 17:39 bless you...hahahaha. :D

I am very curious. At the miling stand where the poo gets washed I see you have dug out a small draining ditch. I am curious if you every spread some pulverized Lime to kill any possible Protozoa or parasites. I understand how you keep the pastures from healthy, but what about that one spot?
