Hi Justin, I was a chef for 15 years, and have a little helpful hint: When soaking feed, put the water in first, then add feed so that everything gets wet.

Praise God for this blessing to the Rhodes family. Thanks for content that educates and entertains this life-long city girl. There's some reminders here of what my southern Colorado farm raised mom told about her early years (late 1930s to mid 1950s) spent tending to various livestock. Also, I see a bit of parallel to what my husband shared about working his grandparents' crops and poultry farm in his youth (1960s), and his working for a large scale beef cattle operation during high school (mid 1970s). A main lesson is that farm experiences made them both have an excellent work ethic. Plus, they are the most creative and loyal people I've been lucky to be loved and inspired by.

Congratulations on your new addition! He is absolutely adoraBULL. Sorry, had to go there, haha. I think the name you choose either has to begin with either an H (hippo, horse, hamster, hawk?) or an M (monkey, meerkat, mule, mouse?), since the marking sort of resembles those letters. Wishing everyone who reads this a continued blessed Christmas season and a safe, healthy, happy new year! xoxox Heather🇨🇦

Ohhhhh, how precious Flossie and baby are!! Good mama, Flossie👍❤ I was really hoping for a heifer, but now Stud has his very own son to grow up, and Moose has a playmate! Justin, I grew up around beef cattle, so this might be a silly question, but I wonder if dairy cows stop giving milk after they get older? That's why I was hoping for a girl, so you'd have a new heifer for a milk cow later on. He sure is a handsome little feller. The marking on his forehead looks like a tooth! Flossie has calmed down immensely. Hopefully when Phyllis calves hers will be a heifer! Ole Stud is a Big Daddy now! Oh I almost forgot in all the excitement, Rebekah did a good job milking!👍The fun will be you spending the day as a pregnant woman! Hope you all have a great weekend!! Since Phyllis's baby is named Moose, a good name for Flossie's baby would be "Buck"!🦌

OMG 😲 Your Dad WILLARD BOOTS RHODES in Heaven has one sense of humor! If you look at that marking on that calf’s Head a certain way it’s a W ! It’s a doggone W for Willard! I’d say your Dad & God played a joke on you Justin Rhodes to let you know he’s there he’s watching your show & he’s just fine! Oh that warms my Heart ❤️! If you look at that Marking from front it could be a M but from behind the calf it’s a W !! Boots said he’d be piping the show to Heaven. Guess he wants you to know he had a part in God putting that W on that calf’s head! Awesome 👏😁❤️👍 Willard would be a awesome Name for him. 😁👍❤️

Added a new family member eh? Its amazing how quickly after birth an animal is up and running around. Looks like Flossey got things handled. I was surprised that the birth happened out in the field. I'd think she would have wanted to go in the barn where it's warm. I was with you Becky, when you were relating to the birth. Having had home births, we know how it feels to pass new life into the world, conscience without an epidural, satisfying. Now you get to choose a name for your boy. Hmmmm? Nick? As in St. Nick?
