Built my last PC roughly 6 years ago and when it came time to upgrade, this is the route I chose. Personally, I didn’t want to spend the time to build a PC so I researched pre builts and ultimately landed on the i7500. So far, so good. Temps stay low, even with some overlocking. People saying “buy components and build it yourself, they use shit components, blah blah blah” are just trying to be elitist. There’s really no downside other than maybe esthetics.

Just subscribed after coming across your channel and just gotta say great content and information ! Learning a lot here. From watching these videos you have talked me out of a R16 big time and kind of pushed me towards the Corsairs. My question is this ... At the higher end for them I am torn between the A8100 and the I8200. You have any thoughts on those ? Seems the I8200 is one of your favorites but saw nothing on the A8100. Appreciate any input and you definitely earned the sub either way !
@JustinTechTips8 ай бұрын
@gmcjimmy4236 Thanks for the sub! Yeah, it seems like every time I do an AMD prebuilt review, they get way less views and less attention and less sales that I see come through affiliate links. So I mostly just stick to Intel since that seems to be what my viewers prefer. And overall my tests show intel to perform slightly better when factoring in all the resolutions I test at

@JustinTechTips I am researching a new PC and I am loving the details provided in your videos. Question: For the Corsair Vengeance i8200 (Given the two PCIe slots shown at 4:18 in the video): Is there a PCIe x8 connected slot that is available for a capture card (DeckLink Quad HDMI Recorder) needing 8 lanes (I think ideally, connected to the CPU and not the chipset)? If not, what would be the closest prebuilt system to the i8200 you would recommend that might have such a slot available, when combined with the 4090?

Build Pro PC has a prebuilt system with an RTX 4070 and an I7 CPU for well under $2k
@joeapp57743 ай бұрын
My advice to anyone on the fence about buying this or any other Corsair prebuilt is to take your business elsewhere. Corsair uses proprietary BIOS in all their prebuilt PCs. You will not be able to download and install critical BIOS updates directly from the motherboard manufacturer. You'll have to wait for Corsair to update their own proprietary BIOS for your system. The problem is...they NEVER provide such updates. My $4000 Vengeance PC still has the BIOS that came installed with it more than ONE YEAR ago. Considering the overheating problems currently plaguing Intel's 13th & 14th generation cpus, this is a SERIOUS problem that cannot be overstated. Corsair has not provided any of the critical updates that motherboard manufacturer's have been regularly providing their customers to help deal with this issue. This is unforgivable. Therefore, I would avoid buying any PC built by Corsair until they get their act together. In addition, it would be helpful is Just!N Tech did a little research on this and added an addendum to this and any other Corsair prebuilt review he's made warning potential buyers of this glaring shortcoming in Corsair's customer service.

@joeapp5774 hey man I brought this to the attention of my Corsair contact last year after a similar comment on the i7400 video.. After about a week of working on it I got an update on May 12th 2023 that said this... "I have an update for you on this. Our team is manually going product page by product page to update all of the downloads. This will be finished by next week. We are also currently in the process of switching our site over to Shopify and will be able to have an automated system that ensures the bios updates are regularly checked for the latest versions which will be huge for fixing this issue. The current issue is we had to do it manually and only some product pages were updated and others were missed due to human error. Luckily that will be fixed with our website transition. I know it’s not the solution both of us were looking for with unlocking the bios updates entirely, but it is at least a viable solution that takes a single Google search. We are also working to increase visibility on this option for new buyers as well." Since I don't physically have the i7500 with me I can't verify that any of those Corsair versions of the BIOS updates are new or not.. When you copy the BIOS file from this website for your motherboard... help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/18851284772621-CORSAIR-System-BIOS-Drivers What date does that BIOS version say when you click on it while flashing the BIOS?
@joeapp57743 ай бұрын
@@JustinTechTips Thanks for the speedy reply. The date on my BIOS are 1/11/23 (9002). I have the i8100, which you reviewed last year. There are no other BIOS posted on their website for my PC. Perhaps the person charged with performing that manual product by product BIOS update task on their website developed carpal tunnel syndrome before they had a chance to update my particular product page and simply couldn't go on. Either that, or Corsair has been woefully negligent in providing their customers, some of which (like me) spent small fortunes on their prebuilts, with regular and critical BIOS updates. I'm hoping they at least grasp the urgency of providing Vengeance owners with 13th & 14th gen cpus with Intel's newly released microcode. However, I'm not optimistic. At any rate, thanks again for getting back to me.

@joeapp5774 Hey Joe did you check out the link I sent you? Here it is again - help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/18851284772621-CORSAIR-System-BIOS-Drivers I went back to my i8100 review to see which motherboard I got with that build. It was an ASUS Prime Z790-P WIFI . Is that what yours is? In the link I sent, you can see a list of all the motherboards that Corsair has used for their prebuilts. If you scroll down to Asus Prime Z790-P WiFi DDR5 and then click on the word BIOS under that you can download the 9019 version which looks like only a few months old. I had to actually right click the word BIOS and then click on "save link as" and then Google Chrome said that it as an "insecure download" so I had to click on "Keep" to let it download. I am currently working with a Corsair Build Kit that also has a proprietary BIOS and all of my tests have limited the CPU voltage to under 1.48 so it doesn't appear I have been effected by any Intel overvoltage requests that were causing the instability issues. If you do a Cinebench R23 test with HWinfo open, what does your max Core VIDs get up to? I'm wondering if Corsair's proprietary BIOS actually protected us from Intel there?

I was about to get the 4080. How is the prebuilt working for you?
@codyhare28978 ай бұрын
I bought the Vengeance with the 12700k and the 3080 a couple years ago, I then bought a 4090 and gave my son the 3080. Then I started reading about bottle necking so I thought I would upgrade to the 14900k, but unfortunately Corsair did not offer a Bios update. So if your looking to upgrade down the line I wouldn't recommend a prebuilt.
@JustinTechTips8 ай бұрын
@codyhare2897 I complained about this very thing with the i7400 when someone looking to upgrade their i7300 commented about their frustrations. When I reached out to my contact at Corsair, they jumped on it and said the new BIOS update was available for download about a week later. This was back in May. Have you tried recently?
@codyhare28978 ай бұрын
I tried in January of this year, but then I decided to just do the build I wanted, so my wife is going to use the vengeance for now running with a 980ti.
@JustinTechTips2 ай бұрын
@codyhare2897 I know this is an old comment but just in case there is anyone else frustrated.. This is no longer an issue Corsair updates their BIOS a lot more frequently these days than it used to. They've just moved where those updates are to a new page help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/18851284772621-CORSAIR-System-BIOS-Drivers

Buying a pre-built isn't like this. You speak to the Alienware sales team and negotiate a discount, based on whether you're paying upfront. If you buy upfront, you can get hundreds off. I have a quote for the R16 with 4090 and best processor, with the new 32" OLED monitor, at £850 off if I pay in full upfront. I'm pushing back and want £1,100 off. I'll get it, even if I have to wait a week. Only noobs pay the sticker price for a pre-built, or buy from Amazon, so all of these P2P ratios are off.
@JustinTechTips8 ай бұрын
That's the case with Alienware but I haven't heard many people who've had consitent luck with negotiating a discount with other brands. That just means the R16 is even further in the lead when it comes to Price to Performance if you have luck with that 1,100 off

For some people the extra price is worth not having to worry about screwing something up themselves and letting someone who's job it is to build it.
@bustbig63708 ай бұрын
For most people this guys opinion of a prebuilt gaming PC is garbage. Nothing is even close to specs on comparing multiple PCs all different hardware with a different price. 4080 vs 4090 not even close. 14900K 14700K 13900K no comparison. 7800X3D 7950X not even mentioned that’s odd.
@JustinTechTips8 ай бұрын
@bustbig6370 I compare all of them so people can see how they differ for those curious about it being worth the extra money for them. Yes, they are obviously not even close. Price to performance is a big factor. That's why I show all the prices and show the fps you can expect with each category. I do mostly Intel and Nvidia because when I do an AMD PC it does not get nearly as many views and because of affiliate links, I see can barely anyone ends up buying AMD gaming pcs. I did the Corsair a7300 and the numbers proved a LARGE majority wanted the Corsair i7300 instead. The PC that 7800X3D was in was insanely expensive.

@@Zagrid My point is that Corsair will screw it up or send you shitty parts. 2ndly. You wont screw it up. You could even follow someone's build video and use similar parts
@m74d38 ай бұрын
@nickjarboe8938 corsair would screw up building their own gaming pc, or use shitty parts? How do you figure? If I purchase a PS5, an xbox, a Switch, an OLED TV, etc, I generally assume it'll be built properly since that's what those companies do - they build those products. Why wouldn't I assume the same of corsair? Are you saying corsair has some unique inability to build their own products and have somehow managed to stay in business despite that? That they sell prebuilt gaming PCs yet don't know how to build them and screw it up? I'm honestly asking because I don't understand what you're trying to say. For me, I don't care about saving money - I'll happily pay more to get a prebuilt to avoid the hassle of doing it myself. But it seems like you're trying to claim that it's not only cheaper to build it yourself, which I don't dispute but also don't care about - but that corsair actually doesn't know how to build them properly, which is an entirely different claim, and one that I find tough to believe. It just wouldn't make much sense if that were true
