Yeah I’m gonna push back on the hip flexors. I am a old man how used to be a sprinter stayed active in Soccer my entire life. Watched my speed d diminish as i aged one day my chiropractor looked at me and said “your hip flexors”. So i made an appointment with a massage therapist, he worked on my hip. The next time I went to accelerate it was like he took twenty years off my body.
@justjumari
@justjumari Жыл бұрын
Did he work on your hip flexor ? Or did he improve hip internal rotation which is one of the leading things older athletes struggle with . Or did he fix your pelvis position and function since 90% of older athletes with a full time job sit for most of the day which weakens the hip flexor and gives it incredible pain
@emerichagens8756
@emerichagens8756 Жыл бұрын
My internal rotation is trash LOL! Has been for a long time since my twenties. But I don’t have a desk job per say I am at my desk maybe 10%. So if I am speculating it is something to do with being able to separate your hips in the lateral or circular plain. The litmus test would be if you injured flexor it would prevent you from pulling your knee though you might walk fine as it is a pendulum motion, but you are not running or sprinting. It may not mean that much to your 60/100m but a lot to your 400/600/800m or mile as you are into the sub 4:45 as you are driving your knees to run sub 4:00min time

Speed endurance is not an energy system right? We learned about: aerobic, anaerobic, alactic(PCr) energy systems. Do you mean training the anaerobic energy system during those max efforts 200m’s?
@justjumari
@justjumari Жыл бұрын
Well it’s not an energy system in the college books. My knowledge isn’t based on what you learn from college or school it’s from books research and other top coaches. In the track field we fall acceleration, max velocity, speed endurance, speed endurance 2 energy systems, it’s not textbook but just a way to categorize

I hear some people mentioning about doing squats over leg press due to stability muscles or something. What’s your opinion on that? I don’t think I’ve seen anyone say fully don’t do leg press but it seems to be a common idea to try and do more squats than leg press.

Stability is the key to force production. In the research the less stability you have the less force you do. So that makes machines way better for developing power then 99% of people think. So if your tryna improve stability. Work on ankle stability exercises. Not force production exercises. Hope that makes sense

A counter point in regards to stability. Machines aid in stability, which aid in force production I agree. But what if you did work outs that put yourself in very unstable positions. Train to output force even in lack of stability conditions, wouldn’t that apply more force to when you have more stability available to you? Or is it just lengthening the time it takes to improve output force. Vs immediately using a machine that has stability available to you.
@srikarsana7146
@srikarsana7146 Жыл бұрын
@@drift400 i see it this way. If you want to become good at a movement then do the movement. If your aim is hypertrophy then use machine. if you want to become better at jumping you have to jump. So what are you trying to do ? become better at a movement or just muscle building ?

But TLDR is causes a lot of compensations, too much muscle gain can be very detrimental, the velocity of lifting is way to slow compared to .2 second ground contact time you have to produce force. And yea we only use squats and deadlifts mainly for injury prevention and some force potential

The truth is if Usain Bolt used a relaxed game of hop scotch as his preferred trainng method, he still would have been the fastest person alive for a number of years. He's not a great example for the impact of a specific training regime. He was so much more gifted than anyone else it didn't matter how he trained (within a very wide range of alternatives), as long as it didn't cause a severe injury to his lower body.

To me it seems obvious. You want to train in a way that is going to most closely mimic what you are trying to achieve in the actual race. This is ‘conditioning’, not just training. It’s strange to me that so many trainers have veered away from this and do random tempos which do not mimic anything in the race. Even if it’s just a ‘recovery’ session or whatever. To me it seems more logical to just have fewer but better sessions altogether.

The amount of people you train is not a show case of your knowledge atleast infront of me. I respect will ratelle advice and after going through his content i learned a lot. Answer my questions i will honestly respect you like how i respect will. Below are your non conclusive statements from just 4 mins. what is speed endurance energy system even mean ? Could you please mention what energy system you mean ? I really did not understand what you spoke in comparing leg press and back squats. "with doing a leg press especially a lot 2:37 of people like are really quick to load 2:39 up on a back squat go 400 pounds 300 2:41 pounds when you do a leg press and put 2:43 way less like systemic load on your body 2:45 and be way more fresh the next day like 2:47 you're gonna be sore but you're not" What is the "systemic load" you put in backsquats which is not present in leg press? Eccentric portion of the lifts create soreness and induce a lot of fatigue than concentric only excericse. But leg press even has eccentric portion but still apples to oranges comparision. knee pain is an abstraction. I have jumpers knee but still i do zerchers. Jaketurra advice on Jumpers knee helped me a lot. what is that you are trying to say here ? " this might look ridiculous I 3:06 promise you doing hill Sprints in the 3:09 water this is resistance and then he 3:11 even got some resistance this direction 3:13 doesn't really matter what if you're 3:14 going up or down but it's resistance to 3:16 the tendons but you're taking no load to 3:18 the body so you're kind of deloading 3:20 your body weight but still adding 3:21 resistance I know it sounds crazy" how to its only resistance to tendons and not to muscles ? The way you have explained the gait .. you have spoken as if only a sprinter goes through gait but not a human who can walk "t behind his body and going through the 3:52 gait cycle the gait Cycles what every 3:54 Sprinter goes through is your ability to 3:56 cycle through in the cyclical motion so 3:58 this is the circle that you run in when 4:00 you sprint and he's training that with 4:02 resistance and also uh while pulling it 4:04 up so you can you know get used as hip 4:06 flexion more often uh this next one" So what are you trying to say to your viewers ? I did not got why usain bold is doing leg press , what energy system is usain bolt trying to train by running 200 meters max efforts. we dont even know if he ran 200 meters. why is he running in water (hill sprints in water ) ? how not loading a body is a resistnace to tendons what you are trying to explain about gait cycle

What is speed endurance😂. It’s lactic acid workout to rise threshold
@justjumari
@justjumari 3 ай бұрын
speed endurance is when you train anaerobic endurance to improve your ability to maintain speed for long distances. it's just another phrase olympic coaches use like noah lyles track coach to categorize training. But if you would like to make a joke and randomly call it lactic acid because it might look like that you can go ahead with that too.

@@justjumari someone referred me to your channel to see what you’ve said was accurate. And you being a young coach means you should take critique from someone that’s been in the game for a longtime, no need to boast. And getting a B- isn’t bad your not Smith Mills or Francis yet
