Many of the most gifted players don't know how to push themselves to their limits because they've never had to. If you're dedicated and work hard you'll surpass many of the players that are in front of you right now 💪🏼🧠

I was a college level sprinter a long time ago. Glad to see most of the drills we did are still being used. Lots of turnover and stride work in this video. That was the fun part. Wind sprints and hill/slope work sucked.

One of the hardest thing I find is to engage the gluts 100% because we tend to use our quads instead. One can tell if a runner is using the gluts 100% by observing whether his/her hips are high or not.

if this exercise would be the best to improve the speed , then the best would be to train in a weight training machine with some serious overload other than an elastic band I invented and developed a weight training machine for that,I am the inventor f said weight training machine, so I can talk about this with trainers or researcher since I also tested, the true is that this motion is only valid to some particular performances where the lift of the knee came from a blocked position, for example in martial arts with the frontal kick, not for the sprint where the lift of the thigh cames from the weight force expresse by the running and in particular way from the trasnfer of said force from the leg behind. band and cables have also the execution fase reduced so that the overload is pratically very low, so which power could be gained training with a so low resistance? it is clear very few. One thing must not to be forgotten and is that in the sprint motion the real weight expressed to push forward the body must be the highest possible and it will not be got thru an elastic band, with such tool it is possible only to improve the speed but not the power, the about total of drills i see in internet and sold for the best are valid for beginners only for coordination and for advanced sprinters don t make the difference, thos sprinter could improve anyway even without such drills. i talk so becase i managed to train with some olimpian sprinters and so what was their training routine, most of them are sprinter at very young age, some cases with a great difference of power may have same times. However in this drill in the video, another negative point is that the athlete when touch the ground have no weight force to be incremented and of course no way to trasnfer to the opposite leg (since it is also engaged in such drill). this drill is not only not the best but neither can be useful to improve the speed ,at least at the best, since in sprint motion is the leg behind the real engine, instead in this drill only train the thigh of the forward leg, i think that in sprint motion we don t see athlete running only lifting the thigh of the forward leg, otherwise would be a very slow running, moreover this drill don t train the complete arc of motvement of the forward leg, pratically is training only the final part (about 1/4 or less) . 2:10 this drill try to reproduce that particular moment in which the athlete touch the ground, in the middle between a pliometry of the external foot at aside of the support and the controreaction movement of the opposite leg. but the engage is very minimum, after some initial results there wil not be relevant positive results doing for thousands of repetitions, it is only usful for the coordination and the speed related to that coordination (loosing the coordination the speed decreases so the drill mus be abandoned) and however don t train the the fact we see advanced sprinters peforming well tis drill or the power. 3.20 although the execution is appreciable, as we see in the video, it must be said that drill, does not means it is really useful to improve the speed for all the people, to affirm that this drill or whatever drill can be valid for improving the speed , it should be proved that this drill applied to a beginner -who does n train in any other way- got x positive results in times of sprint distances. Unfortunately most of test conducted are related to children (which can be easily speed ) or advanced sprinters. 4:02 a drill to be really positive should be performed for many repetitions, while here we see only some ,4:35 in this drill, the attempt is to gain an increment of the weight force (the knee blocked is strumental for that, since in this way the opposite leg is obliged to absorbe all the weight force) but the realty is that in the real running the transfer of the added weight force it is got thru an arc of rotation of the leg behind. however here there is no leg behind nd there is no arc of rotation, simply the blocked leg is always under the baricentre, the amount of overload is pratically minimum since it is known that the overload increases so much as the overload is far from baricentre 8:01 in this drill, the attempt is to get an increment of the weight force for the fact that one leg is before, thrown forward , and after is blocked immediately, so that that can be able to lift the opposite leg with more speed, one case is about the javeline disicpline where the athlete while is throwing the tool, block the opposite shoulder in way to trasnfer an increased weight force to the shoulder appointed to the throw.
