Love you guys so much but UGH the way yall talk about COVID is so strange! Of course people die from the flu but the flu had so much time to evolve into something less deadly, and we also have vaccines for that. Getting COVID now is less deadly than it was 3 years ago for the same reason. Sure, I believe in a healthy distrust in government is needed, but beyond that, it was real and it was severe. I a,m a nurse and it was terrible; I wasn't even on the front like but I saw what it did to my colleagues who were. Those piles of dead bodies in NYC was real. However, Steve is right; it became about being paid. Hospitals could get insurance to pay more if a patient died of COVID, and yall are probably right that it may have skewed research results, but insurances don't actually give a damn about people and their health - that's the real issue in American healthcare.

Well said! I am in Canada and have people around me who are healthcare workers still struggling from Long Covid (they got the 1st initial strain of COVID- which seems to me was the deadliest strain). I feel the same way about test anxiety as Nick does social anxiety. I think most situational anxiety is felt to some degree by most people. But, at a point, or due to other mental health issues, the anxiety can become a disorder, like agoraphobia, which I really do feel bad for people who are suffering with something like that and struggle to find a way to push through it.

On the bad therapist thing, if you are going through your insurance to find a therapist, and you need serious help for things like trauma, ptsd, personality disorders, etc. it’s probably not going to be what you need. If you need some simple talk therapy because maybe you need some help with self-esteem issues, interpersonal relationships, or you want to just get in touch with your emotions, then that affordable therapist you find through insurance could be great for you. The unfortunate thing with really great therapists is that they are usually specialists who specialize in treating specific disorders and in specific types of therapy and it’ll be really expensive.

My ex’s therapist was like this. Made her feel like everything wasn’t her fault and talked about her feeling. I asked my ex “hey not trying offend you but has she helped solved any of your problems?” My ex said “no we just talk about it”. She pays 200$ month for years. Oh and when her therapist went on leave she wanted to stay still and make monthly payments even when that provider wasn’t seeing her for a couple of months. When you’re a little girl and very cute everyone says yes but now you’re a adult so everybody says no and plus internet will make you lose motivation because someone is always better so what’s the point of trying? How about doing it for your damn self and you’re worth working hard for. How about that?

first of all, what Nick described might be a social anxiety but NOT a social anxiety DISORDER, the level is completely different, plus, being able to overcome any type of anxiety doesn't make that anxiety a scam. the problem with anxiety is that for each person it works differently, be it the trigger, the level, etc. but one thing is for sure, you can only overcome if you fight back and the more you do, the less it will affect you, but again, that doesn't mean it's a scam, it only means you were able to get over it.
@Sake_Ikura_Don
@Sake_Ikura_Don Жыл бұрын
I think Nick thinks social anxiety is a scam because a lot of people pretend to have social anxiety. Even though they have no symptoms, it's like with depression, if someone is upset, then he/she says: "I'm depressed" and people are just used to the fact that depression is a bad mood, while a depressive disorder is a serious mental illness.

Masks are proven to not do anything to prevent covid spreading. The vaccine has been harmful and didn’t in fact prevent covid as they said it would. I know for sure my old roommate would just go to therapy to talk shit in a way that made them always seem innocent. And they just kept getting worse and worse. I still think therapy is good for most people, and some people do just need a less biased person to vent to and destress, but for a lot of people, it just seems like their therapist is validating everything they say, or at least that's how their words are perceived. I've also had some shitty experiences personally with therapists though. Just try to hop around if things really don't feel right, dangerous though since it can be hard to tell who's good for you when you're in a vulnerable state. And hard enough to find an open therapist as it is. 😅

Please read more on anxiety disorders because you're confusing regular anxiety and anxiety disorders lol. Everyone gets anxiety time to time, this is completely different. You could be chilling and your brain will convince you that something is wrong or your body will have an anxiety attack for seemingly no reason. Regular anxiety is usually stuff most people go through and they know why they're anxious, like talking to someone you like or being the new person at a job. Anxiety disorders just come up when it wants to (there is a trigger, but it can be so subtle the brain/body reacts while the person has no idea what's going on) and can get so severe that it needs medication just to get the brain to chill out. With anxiety disorder, it's like someone flipping on a fight or flight switch randomly throughout your day and life. Imagine waking up with an anxiety attack for absolutely no reason other than your brain just decided to have one. Anxiety disorders are often not rational, even to the person suffering from them while regular anxiety usually has a clear cause and often experienced by everyone. Anxiety attacks aren't just people "freaking out" or "breathing heavy." People don't take medication just for that lmao. You wouldn't give Vicodin to someone just because they got a paper cut. Recovering from anxiety doesn't make it a scam, there's nothing that says these mental illnesses last your entire life other than the mental illness itself. It's literally the same mindset as people who say "depression is a scam, everyone gets sad from time to time. Just try to be happier."

it just means your friends are either 1. Not listening to their therapists 2. Don't have the right therapists. Someone with ASPD seeing a therapist who isn't educated on ASPD will not help vs someone who actually specializes in it. 3. They think as long as they see some therapist, they're doing good when that's not true at all. Different therapists and their methods don't work for everyone. There are also certain types of people who see therapists, not to get help, but to LOOK like they're getting help so they look good to everyone else. It's almost like addicts saying they're going to rehab when in reality, they're just there to meet new suppliers (I knew someone who did that and said they were going to rehab trying to impress me, but some people you know they don't intend on getting help). I don't know how often it's done, but I've heard of it. 4. They could just have a bad therapist. In a lot of cases, people will go to therapy for a short amount of time and just stop when they think they feel better which is not advised. Bottom line is these friends need to CHANGE THERAPISTS because as long as they keep seeing them and not making progress, they're just wasting money and/or time. You'll know when you found a good therapist for you. It's like someone with a bad back going to see a pathologist and deciding doctors are useless or seeing someone who apparently has a shitty doctor that can't fix back problems when in reality the person never fixes their poor posture, they carry heavy bags on one side of the shoulder, and they have the worst forms when picking up heavy objects. And they come up to you like, "so I've been seeing this doctor for a minute...." Like bro, you're clearly doing something wrong and you should clearly reconsider the doctor or what you're doing.

I legit have social anxiety disorder. It’s a chronic mental health condition in which social interactions cause irrational anxiety. Key word, irrational. It’s damn near like a panic attack. You could be in your “comfort zone” and still feel it. And it lingers. You even want to get away from your loved ones. I thought that’s what everyone was talking about and bringing awareness to. therapy goes both ways: - therapists that don't eff know what they are talking about or they simply reinforce what's already wrong, they simply say what they think you want to hear - which works for everybody that doesn't like to listen to other people - people that goes to therapy because they were forced to or they go there but they are not ready to change, they don't want to listen, they simply keep blaming others, they are never responsible nor accountable in any of these cases, it simply won't work. I'm not a therapist but I always say, the common denominator for all the crap you lived is YOU, so you will be responsible and accountable at some degree, you have to, so as long as you understand that, you can start to change the bad habits you've been nurturing your whole life. If you are still defensive or too negative about yourself, then you are not ready and you might never change.

The whole therapist thing works well when both the therapist and patient have inner monologues. Only 25% of people have inner monologues/thoughts which is crazy. The rest are NPCs

I felt the exact same way, my therapist told me.. yeah, I'll be here, but we're pretty much done. What 😂? Controversial? I know people are going to come for me, you know what? No, I'm not saying what mine is because I'm tired of fighting in these comments 😂. I got covid 3 damn times, one time was long haul covid, that shit SUCKED! I thought I was dying for sure.

Pretty sure you need an M.D. for Psychiatry. And residency. and At least Masters, if not phd for therapy (legit ones) in Canada. I agree and so does my ADHD doc that 90-99% of people are incompetent tho. Ya. ADHD = real. Anxiety, etc can be very bad. I was ripped and perfect again however, I went thru 2 deadly illnesses caused by meds and fixed them. I agree with some of these hot takes. Discipline = freedom.

Nick is so off about social anxiety, most people have social anxiety to some degree I agree, but some people just have higher levels of stress socially that is undeniable.

My controversial opinion is that people who choose to have kids in today's world are being selfish. They want the kids because of the joy it will bring them, and not truly considering what their life will be like in 20-30 years. Our planet is so fucked that I would be amazed if 2050 didn't look like something out of Mad Max, with cities in ruins from climate catastrophes, millions of people displaced, economies in ruins and wars raging as countries struggle to hold onto what resources they still have (or take from others) in a downward spiral. The richest people will live in walled communities, built wiith the money they inherited from their parents and grandparents who used politicians to steal from everyone else. They will be guarded 24/7, until they are torn apart by multitudes of starving, dying people filled with rage and desperation.

Black dude? His name is Shapel. It is in the title of the video w/ the Ft. 🤨 And if you had actually listened to what Shapel had said, he was saying he went to anger management 3 times. He blamed the therapist because the first 2 times the therapist was making excuses for why he was angry, giving his past experiences as an excuse vs having him take personal accountability for his actions/behavior in order to move past it going forward. He finally learned that lesson by the 3rd therapist and did put in the work to control his emotions, move past it and not respond with anger and violence anymore. That was why he said some therapists are good and some suck. Same really in any practice tbh.

The amount of misinformation in here is kind of concerning. Over 80% of the US population is vaccinated for COVID to some degree and 70% are fully vaccinated. Several publications also show that homelessness was linked to higher rates of COVID mortality - particularly in LA county.
