what they didn't touch on is they could have various modes and likely be customized in terms of looks. so it's not like you're buying into just 1 girlfriend, you're buying into unlimited. with unlimited personalities, and unlimited physical trait combinations (assuming you have the budget). already there exist deep fakes too. imagine you buy a taylor swift robot? or a Thor robot? or "I really like this anime character, please replicate her speech and mannerisms", and you enjoy that for a week till you change the settings to something else. again, you're not buying one girlfriend, you're buying all girlfriends in one purchase. People also assume ai or robots will just be useless, but the reality is, robots may be able to work and make money themselves. so in 50-100 years, it's not like humans will be the ones solely "supporting" the robots, the opposite is likely to be the case, and is probably the ultimate goal. Wall-E.
