Even though not the best situation, it shifts their priority of focusing on them instead of taking care of others. She’ll get through it and come out stronger. Had a uncle visit from another state. A week later when he got home, he had to get heart surgery. Hours later he died. Before that he was telling his wife he had pain. Everyone thinks it was malpractice. Every time I look at the chair in my dining room, I’m like dam…you were just there and so lively. What Ryan said is true. Fights and arguments are fruitless. Tell your folks you love them. Unless they absolutely screwed up your life, then fuck them.

Steve prayers to your mom. This video has me reminiscing of my dad who passed away between my birthday and Christmas last year from als. Once he got diagnosed in Feburary 2021, it was a true reality and a nightmare at the same time. After that, I never wanted to fight with family and make more happy memories even they can make it hard but at the end you only have one family.

Praying for your mom, Steve. Thankful she caught it early and that your dad made her go to the doctor to have it checked out. As to guys not letting others know when they have warning signs of something being wrong. My dad was like that; still is to some extent. In Sept. 1995, on a Friday, I noticed when my dad was mowing the lawn that he had to keep sitting down to take a break. I went to check on him to see what was wrong. He was winded more than usual, and very pale, yet he insisted he was fine. After the third break, I went out and told him he needed to go see the doctor. He said he was going to wait till the following month when he had an appt. I told him he shouldn't wait, and that if he didn't want to go for me or himself, then to at least go for his grandson who loves him to death(my son was 5 at the time). My dad even yelled at me that I wasn't allowed to tell my siblings anything was wrong. My brother had stopped by, and he didn't notice anything was wrong with dad even though he was still very pale. Needless to say, my dad went to the doctors on the following Monday, had an EKG, from that the doc sent him to the hospital for more tests; where he angrily called me to ask "are you happy now? I'm in the hospital!", to which I said "I would rather you be in the hospital having tests done, then dead next month". He had an angiogram on that Tues., that Wed. he had a quadruple bypass. With guys you have to look past their words to other signs.

Prayers for your mama Steve. I hope everything goes well. But it's true. Within the yr of 2021 and the start of this year, my family from both sides have lost about 7 family members. Either from COVID or sudden health issues or accidents. I felt how life is so fleeting more so now than ever. It's true. You always think people will be here forever and that death will come, but you just expect more in terms of long term rather than suddenly. So I too agree. Keep your loved ones close and spend time with them because no other BS is worth the time.

Just be positive about it bro. I know how it is. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and she did chemotherapy. It disappeared and she was in remission for about 18 years and then it came back in both breasts. She ended up getting a mastectomy in both breasts last year. She’s about the same age as your mom. The good thing is she caught it in the early stages.
