I love Death Note...but it's not something I would introduce right off the bat. The twists and turns may be too much for some people. Plus, I don't think he'd like the whole "I am God" thing Light has going on because he "didn't earn it"... whatever they meant by that. I just think he needs to get over the fact that what he's watching isn't real and it'll probably open up his mind a little to anime.

Steve would love Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor. It’s about a dude who’s in deep, deep debt and he’s invited to gamble his way out of debt or die trying. A lot of people say the general concept of Squid Game (playing life or death games to get out of debt) was inspired by Kaiji. It’s a lot more brutal than Squid Game, which makes sense since it’s the prototype. The only bummer about this show is that the pacing is slow at times; a game normally spans several episodes. I think Bart could probably get into Ranking of Kings. He and Geo love underdog, “never give up” stories and I feel like as a parent he can probably get really invested in & and really root for the protagonist’s success & growth since he’s around Taika’s age. The only drawback for Bart is that it is in a fantasy setting so if he hasn’t emotionally bought into the show after watching the first episode or two (which are really, really emotional) then he’s never gonna make it through the whole season.
