A cafe curtain is one that covers the lower part of a window, so-called because it gave cafe patrons privacy from passersby without blocking light. A curtain on lower cabinets is a skirt. 👍
@justlanchen9 ай бұрын
Yes absolutely, that's also a great search term! The reason I just kept it to cafe curtains is because when I googled skirt curtains, cafe curtains pop up under the same listing names. I figured it was easier to find different options that way 🙈

Another nice idea is to thrift a few dainty teacups and turn them into candles. Using leftover candles makes this very affordable. I also do a lot of repainting, mixing and matching to end up with unique cottagecore decor.

"Why wouldn't you want a bed skirt?!" Well, it basically creates a ladder around the perimeter for spiders and other bugs to crawl up onto your bed. They also collect hair and dust, you may have heard them called "dust ruffles". I agree that they're cute and part of the aesthetic, but probably not the most practical way to achieve the look you're going for.

Cottagecore is much older than 2010s! It was just called stuff like Country/Prairie and even Shabbychic decor back in the day! ❤ My mom and grandma both decorated their houses in this Country style. My mom was a bit more heavy handed on it becuase she truly loved British Country style and longed to live in a real cottage. She was obsessed with Beatrix Potter and a lot of that vibes well with "Cottagecore." We had the open shelves but we had contact paper on the shelves and we had all the curtains. Lots of lace and quilts and bed skirts! It was a lovely and creative enrivonment to grow up in as a little kid. ❤ My grandma didn't take her cabinet doors off in her kitchen but she would use decals and stick them onto the doors! Sunflowers and Humminbirds! ❤

Mostly similar to the last one but with some nice new photos. I liked that one of the "window treatments" bit, although there's not much overall I can use here and the kitchen is secondary to the living room, etc.

I’m sorry it bothered you. From what I understand both pronunciations are correct. I use a glottal stop which is common in America and I’ve never heard anyone pronounce the T personally. I do appreciate you taking the time to give positive feedback about the DIYs.Thank you! 🫶

Both are correct. Depends on where you came from. Like wash, worsh, water, or woder. Oil, Ole....pattern, patten...roof, roovf. Chimney, Chiminey... Curtain, Curtin...t silent. Salted, Salten....we could make a game out of this.😅

It is funny how they keep recycling the same aesthetics by just changing the labels and then swearing it is a new one. When you are old enough to experience life enough, you can recognize that a mile away.

One video is just decor, this is DIYs and other ideas to be an ode to the aesthetic somewhere in the home. Of course ideas will overlap because there is only so much I can come up with and I mentioned decor in my previous video that could be a DIY and felt it made sense here.

Why do they use the word ‘core’. It reminds me of hardcore music. Which is not very cottage-like.
@justlanchen9 ай бұрын

When they attach "core" to a aesthetic, it means that is heavy on something, the person that likes it is a die hard fan and the essence of that aesthetic leans heavily on some particular detail of that aesthetic. It does sound odd, though.
