There is no reason that watches do not come in 36mm and 38mm options. At this price they should also offer different bracelet options as well. Whatever way you look at this, this is a very expensive watch and the makers are creating a false demand by only producing small volumes.

I just received my Silver on Stainless - thanks for the amazingly quick delivery to Albuquerque, NM. I Love It!! As a bigger guy (6' 3"), I absolutely adore my White Origin 41 and its bold look. But, this 38 carries a whole new presence that is sophisticated, understated, and classy - but still undeniably a tool watch. The curved HLink bracelet (also on my 41) is my favorite of any bracelet I've ever seen!! Articulates beautifully, even at tight angles, yet maintains a tight tolerance between links. The new taper on the 38 is perfect. And, something about the silver dial and stainless bezel really pronounces the lume - I love that brilliant glow of what I call Ice Turquoise Blue!! The San Martin 6200 first showed me that, while I love my big bold watches, I also enjoy the comfort and sophisticated style of 38mm. I suspect this 38 is going to become one of my regular daily suit wears. The watch is gorgeous, Jody!! Thank you so much!!

I writing this review for my Origin 38 in blue here, because the Erebus doesn't offer me a way to sing my praises on my new watch there. First, when you said we would be receiving our watches before next weekend, I said yea right. Five days later (that's what I said 5 days later) I was wearing my new watch. 14,796 kilometers or 9,194 miles in 5 days, I was blown away. You changed out the bracelet from the origin 41for my larger wrist. Thank you for that. Now for the watch. I have a 8 1/4" wrist, but this 38mm size is perfect. The textured blue face with the white sword hand is a eye popper. I find myself reaching for the Origin over my other watches every time. I like that you went with the matt finish on the bezzle, I think it pull the watch together. Nice job, can't wait to see what your next release will be. Moans and niggles, well not really. When you order your next crop of Origin 41, go with the Origin 38 bracelet. The edges on the larger bracelet are quit sharp. Thanks you for making these affordable. Have to say I think this looks even better than the 41 and has the great benefit of distinguishing it more from my Helm Vanuatu. The crown and guards looks better on the smaller case, imo. Nice.

I must admit I didn't find the flat link bracelet on the 41 all that comfortable. I wear mine on the rubber strap. I think adding the chamfer on the inside is a stoke of genius. Not to mention the smaller size. Thanks for listening. Problem is I bought the 41 already and don't know how to justify spending another 300 for the same watch just smaller. I would consider buying a second version if I could get the 38 in the original orange with the black bezel and black date window.

That 38-39mm is such a sweet spot for my wrist. Wondering if I could pull off that hot pink but orange would be a safer choice for an awesome little summer watch. Pricing is very reasonable as well. Great 3rd release, well done.

Can’t put my finger on why exactly, but the 38mm diameter makes this look and feel like a classic! A common criticism of the original 41mm was the fact that it was a little “vanilla”. Welp, the candy man has delivered 🙌 🍭 🍬

My teal one arrived today, in the UK, which is going some given I only ordered it five days ago. So thanks for expediting it, Jody. Immediately liked it. The teal in real life has more green in it than on my screen, where it's more of a turquoise, but that's absolutely fine. The bracelet is outstanding, Nautilus-ish. I've used the microadjust pushed all the way in to get a good fit without removing any links (7" wrist). I was apprehensive about what the teal bezel was going to be like and thought I'd have preferred a matte silver one (not available!), but IRL it's nicely unobtrusive and fits the design. I've never had a diver just an ExII 16570, which this Origin makes feel quite petite, even though it's 40mm, and a couple of 36mms, so the weight and chunkiness took me back a bit compared with them and will take some getting used to. Makes me very glad I've not got the 41. So, all in all, 9/10, great stuff.

Smaller sportswatches are missed out by most brands. So if you doesn't like gake diamonds and pastelle colors small wristed persons and the ladies have a bit of a problem. So you are doing them a great service with this brilliant looking mini sportswatch! Great job!

Very exciting!!! The Origin 41 was a great watch, good quality, nice design, good lume but it was the largest feeling 41 I’ve ever worn. I tried to wear it everyday and it felt like a hockey puck on my wrist. The Orient Mako 2 and Seiko SKX wore a lot smaller and I’d end up going back to those unfortunately. I have a 6 3/4 wrist, so…average size; Maybe I just prefer smaller watches. This 38 should fix the size issue. Now… I just need to figure out the color… Green, Dark Blue, Black….

I never bought an Origin41 as I didn't like them. But if you do a v2 then I probably would buy one, so long as it has these changes: Add the "Silver", "Sunburst Orange" and "Sunburst Green" colors (can't decide - I like them all), make the indices about 15% bigger than what's on the current Origin41, and add the chamfer to the underside of the bracelet. Then you'd have a real killer watch on your hands.

Putting a chamfer on the bottom of the bracelet is the best thing I think you have changed. It’s the one thing San Martin doesn’t do on their bracelets and it makes it about 100 times more comfortable and a lot of company’s do not do this for some reason. Well done!

Value is insane, and well done again. My only complaint is the case profile. Short lug to lug and mid case give it the hockey puck look and it looks chunkier than the thickness suggests.

Looks great. I like the steel bezel inserts, but wish you outlined the 12 o’clock triangle. It disappears unfortunately and should stand out more. Prefer the brushed ceramic inserts over the sapphire inserts. If the light blue had the black matte ceramic insert I would have bought one. I’m not a fan of sapphire inserts unfortunately.

Lovely watch and I’ll probably buy preowned off eBay in 6 months. Bought an original Origin but was hit by UK tax and duties making the price too high. Also the hands were misaligned! So I sold at a loss on eBay. Subsequently bought one off eBay at a much reduced price. I’d really like a quartz movement version especially if it was with a 10 year battery.
