Slavery is about money, slaves where their masters money, their investment towards prosperity. In order to have money and power, therefore influence slaves was the way to achieve such things.

I don't know much, but I can see the horrible effects of red-lining in Chicago. As a white woman I know my family's generational wealth came from real estate that increased in value. It wasn't much, but it helped stay in the safe neighborhoods. It was systematically cut up to keep the black community piled up on top of each other and stuck renting and not saving. It sucks. No, you don’t have to pay. Statute of limitations for consumer debt is three to six years depending on the state. If you aren’t sued by that time period, any claim against you can be dismissed due to being past the statute of limitations. Almost all claims have statute of limitations (an exception would be murder). Reparations likely runs into a statute of limitations problem as well. Bad example.

I am not even a Black American, but I stand with my Black brothers and sister in the pursuit of reparations. Furthermore. Any non black person who is educated or of some intelligence that says they are against it, I just write them off automatically as anti black. It slavery and everything that followed it, up the 90s and even beyond has cause Black Americans, ADOS, strife in the type of ways that would impede and in some cases cripple a legacy. They were not only made to lose, forget, purge, their culture. Not only were they subjected to rape, forced breeding, violence, and labor without compensation. But both the public and private sector colluded against them literally for centuries to make it nearly impossible for them to generate, maintain, and grow wealth and a lasting legacy for future generations. Non black ppl would understand this if they were in the situation, the long lasting damage, and how it would damage all future generations in such a manner that they would need to be compensated for said damage. But they'll ignore all of this and complain about not wanting to front the bill because they didn't enslave anybody, or take shots at the centuries long victimized people themselves. That's anti black to the core. The bill is due, when you joined this country or were birthed into this country, you inherited it's debts. That's how citizenship works in countries. He gain and enjoy in the benefits, and you absorb the liabilities. As for Pearly mentioning her Irish roots, well, the Irish were never slaves. They were indentured servants and some of them were slavers themselves!!! At the time the Holocaust happened, it was legal within Germany territories; the Japanese Incarceration was legal in the US within the time it was carried out, genocide against the native Indians was legal within US the time it was carried out. Yeah, that never works, all you are doing is letting the government control the funds. Which is what they do now every time money is given to POC. With the amount owed per descendent we could build our own schools, buy our own communities and start our own businesses. Yeah, there are going to be some that just waste the cash but those with some sense will build. NO other community given reparations has been told how they should spend their money, why is that the case for us.

Also, black people were not the only group to have been slaves. . ( native Americans, Chinese, or Asians in a variety of places) Jews, Middle East, and Europe. Were enslaved at one time . Today, there are 10 million slaves in Africa, another 2 million in China. And people are complaining about 200 years ago. That comment is saying you need to experience slavery to understand. . Have either of you been abducted , sold ,and transported across the Atlantic ? ( unless you are a few hundred yards old, I doubt it ) . Slavery is thousands of years old . One of the main reasons why I never understood why black men were so up her ass. It was very clear what her preferences (whites men) were and what her target audience (black men) were from the start. White men aren’t checking for her, but black men had a check for her. She rode the back of them until she got to where she wanted. This backlash probably doesn’t even matter to her because she already got what she wanted. That’s all it really is at the end of the day. Just another case of their preferences not preferring them.

The fact that slavery was legal buttresses the case for reparations. This was not just a private enterprise. This was an Enterprise that was sanctioned by the government. Slavery would not have been possible if it wasn't legally recognized by the government. The government also benefited from the tax revenue gained from slavery.. Therefore reparations has very little to do with punishing the descendants of slave owners and has more to do with compensating thr descendants of slaves for unpaid labor which was sanctioned by the government.
