Actually I can add to this because half the quests are to hunt creatures who have no interest in attacking anyone or live in such remote areas that you have to search for them to get attacked. Like herbivores and cave monsters that spooked somebody, usually while the person was doing an activity they can do somewhere else or collecting natural resources. And because of that they want somebody to kill the monster, because they exist.

Valstrax is straight up the reason I got rise. Not even fucking with you I wasn’t going to buy the game until I found out they were putting this guy in. Not only that, but they actually put in an even COOLER VERSION of him instead of the base one. @@scarsch5383 world’s endgame sort of… Well I don’t know how to put this gently but I basically hated mhw’s endgame. None of the monsters were fun to fight, and it took me ages to get any of the gear I wanted. At that point I had decided that I was more or less done with the game after I stopped playing world. That combined with the fact that rise was $80 on release despite it lacking enough content to justify that price tag.

Possibly the lack of anything other than grinding for the 50 HR levels to reach him? Allmother was a great way to finish off the story for Rise and while Valstrax may look nice and have a really good set (maybe it's even fun to fight but I'm still in the late 70s myself) you are left with nothing to do but endlessly grind for 50 levels. Apparently most MH fans like the endless grind though so it may also just be the usual thing with the veterans from any long-running franchise where nothing is good enough for them so regardless of what's done the game will still be too easy and/or boring for them.
