*This was recorded before Matthew's visit to the ER, so he isn't exactly "back" yet (no pun intended😏 ).* He is doing okay, still hurting some but overall he's making it. Thank you all so much for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers. It means so much to both of us! That being said, I wanted to apologize upfront for the quality of this video: Somehow we managed to record our vocals and the movie audio on the same track, so I editing was a real struggle. 😓 Then we kept getting copywrite claims so I had to put the crossbars on. During the early 2000's, I worked as a pool-table installer and got to install a table for Steve Guttenberg at his Pacific Palisades home. He is a very nice guy in person, and had a lot of unique and humanitarian awards; one that struck me as neat was Honorary Mayor of Pacific Palisades. After finishing the table install, he invited me to play a round of pool to test out his new table, making him the only customer I ever played pool with.

A bit of movie trivia pointed out to me recently: During the shotgun training range where (I think it's) Cadet Barbara accidentally shoots the cutout of the little girl, then sweeps the cadets behind him? The only one who didn't duck was Tackleberry (because as a gun...we'll say 'afficionado', he was paying enough attention to see that Barbara hadn't racked a new shell, & therefore knew the gun was safe (relatively speaking. Hahaha)). I do enjoy the little attention to detail...

The biggest laugh this movie got out of me waaaaaay back when I saw it in the eighties as a kid was the part where Mahoney is casually drinking the beer while staring at the showering female cadets, Harris busts him and takes the beer. He then leans over the rail and really looks, like he didn't realize what Mahoney was doing there, the women start screaming, and Harris tries to do this forced casual stance that fails miserably. He tosses the beer and runs away. I don't know why, but the actor's attempt at looking casual sent me into giggle fits for like ten minutes the first time I saw it. Because of all the far less funny sequels, people forget what a comedy gem this first one was.

I'm from Turkey and this was my favorite movie during my childhood, the whole series (minus the titties) were repeatedly on national tv in my childhood during the late 80s and all 90s and I've watched it a million times. Later re-visited a few times in my "grown-up" times surely. Glad you've reacted to it :)

Notice how Tackleberry doesn't duck when Barbara accidentally points his rifle at the crowd? It's because he's a weapons expert and he knew that rifle couldn't fire again without being pumped.

I was born in 82. I watched this as a kid and it just got better with age. Classic.

I REALLY have to thank you lady....your laugh at the "podium scene" was what I needed to laugh a little today too...thank you so much...today was a hard day. Leslie Nielsen is a GENIUS!

Ah, yes, the Blue Oyster Bar. Haven't seen that place in decades. And I didn't know what made me laugh more - the movie or Emily's cracking up. :-) Great reaction! Keep it up!

I thought Emily was going to die laughing during the podium scene. hahahaha

Oh yes. That all saga is epically funny. Thanks for reacting to it.

With Emily's sense of humor, she could have written the script for this movie.

A quick bit of trivia; The Blue Oyster is a running gag through all of the movies.

For another good Guttenberg comedy, I would recommend 1988's High Spirits. It has a star-studded cast and, in my humble opinion, is pretty darn funny. I don't think anyone else has so much as reviewed it here, yet.

2 Fun facts 1 George Gaines had finnish blood. he was born in Finland and when he was a child he and his family moved to America and the family took an American names. 2 He was also in the soap opera series called General Hospital in 1970s and he played gangster and Luke Spencers boss.
