Did 20 yrs Canadian military. One exchange in England a buddy and me were touring around London on off time. We decided first to hit a pub close by. Went in and as waiting to order I'm looking around noticing there's no women and an older guy in corner with young guy. Older guy was wearing Leiderhosen and caressing the young guys face. So I turn to friend and say Jim, he replies already nothing more said I know lol. We shared a beer then left. Walking away We look at pubs sign. Queens Head. Lol. Not trying to offend anyone (if I do believe me it's not meant in that vein). It's just a true story is all and sort of fits the scene lol.

The woman in the title credit Debralee Scott played Mrs. Fackler who jumped on the car trying to stop her hubby from joining the academy. . She was in Welcome Back Kotter and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman in the 70s. Her fiance worked for the NYC port authority as a police officer who died in the 9/11 attacks trying to save people in the twin tower. She was never the same after that and drank. She died of cirrhosis in 2005 at age 52. I watch her on the Match Game, and I do enjoy her spunk and attitude.

I sat next to Bubba Smith at a Harlem Globetrotters (Meadowlark Lemon, Curly Neal era) basketball game. It was a double header with the Baltimore Bullets, years before they left to become the Washington Wizards. Not sure of the timing, so Bubba may have still been playing for the Colts at the time. The guy was massive. Edit: I am guessing this would have been around 1970-71. Bubba Smith left the Colts after the 71 season, and the Bullets relocated to Washington in 1973. It was more likely to have happened before Smith left Baltimore, but definitely not possible after the Bullets left Baltimore, and 70-71 seems about right. And yes, this is probably only interesting to me, but I thought I would clarify! 😁

Tackleberry was by far my favorite character of the entire series, though. His love affair with guns just always remind me of my gun-owning uncle, who had a veritable ARSENAL of weaponry in his house that I used to "ga-ga" over, when I was young.
