Just so you know, 501st requires Matte or Satin white, not Flat white for the base color of the helmet. While it might end up being a big deal, that is what the official CRL says.

Im 3/6 of the way through the print. Had to break it up into 6 prices to fit and ender 5 pro. At 10%, 2 shells and a triangle infill, the parts are firm and coming out nice. The sunlo PLA is printing nice. I am however scared about gluing the whole thing together

Yesterday I was working on my first helmet last night. I was wondering if the bondo covers up some of the noticeable primer globs or does sanding take care of that? And I got some primer covering up some of the seams in the helmet that covers some detail. I didn’t get very far as you can tell.Any help is much appreciated, thank you !

Sanding should take care of the primer globs but bondo works great to cover any spots the primer missed or didn't fill in all the way

Hey, you use a 0.4mm nozzle, correct? I'm just wondering because I feel like a 0.8mm (or 1.0mm) nozzle would be much more time efficient if you're not already using one

Yes, I use a .4 nozzle. I'd have to test it out, I'm sure it would include a lot more sanding but it would drastically reduce the print time.

@@GalacticArmory Yeah it's definitely a trade off, but I'm thinking that it would be super nice to be able to print a helmet in less than 30 hours (which my slicer is telling me is possible with a 1.0 nozzle). Maybe, since there would be thicker layer lines, you could do a light coat of bondo over everything? I'm working on a phase 2 Rex helmet right now so if I try this method out I'll let you know how it goes.

He sells the files for phase 2 armour and commander Cody upgrades which you can either print yourself or get printed. There are some places where you can do that (at least where I live). Do a bit of research of where you could get something printed. Galactic armoury has some tutorials of making armour using his 3D files. I’m currently doing an ARC trooper build using a company that will 3D print for me. Hope this helps 😀
