This is the best episode of the season, one of my favorites of the entire show. An interesting thing I read is that, Sam said in previous episodes that he needs to be more like Dean to continue when Dean leaves, but in this episode without Dean, Sam became John, good hunter but obsessed with revenge.

Believe it or not this is one of the most beloved episodes of the entire series by the fandom. Losing Dean literally turned Sam into John Winchester. Becoming what seems like an obsessive badass does not equal better in my opinion. But Sammy not telling Dean what happened at the end is so heartbreaking💔. I think Jared Padalecki said that he had a very hard time with this episode because it was so emotional for Sam. Loving the cute little man bun Cameron! Cameron, Dean didn't take Sam out of college. Dean asked Sam for his help to find John and when the case that they were working on was over, Dean dropped Sam back off at college. Everything else still would've happened because let's not forget that Sam had a vision of Jessica's death before it happened, so when it did happen, it's likely that Sam would've been like John and started revenge hunting. Now, whether or not Sam would've called up Dean for help, who knows, but Dean's not to blame for that. Davion, I know how much you love Dean, so do I, but this episode was meant for comic relief. Think about some of the ridiculous ways Dean dies: by a dog, from a taco, even the piano, I think that's what that was, falling on him and looking like something out of The Wizard of Oz when the Wicked Witch of the East gets flatten by the house, was meant to be funny. Personally, it's one of my favorite episodes and having seen all 15 seasons, I can tell you that Supernatural has a way of blending comedy and tragedy, sometimes it'll be either or, so be prepared.

A lot of the time this is seen as a comedic ep because of the ways Dean died (and some are!) but Jared Padalecki has often said that this was a really hard episode for him because he had to keep reacting and living seeing his brother die. Rewatching now I realize that this is one of the main moments for Sam to break, he spent SIX FUCKING MONTHS living alone just looking for revenge, impossible for him to have come back normal from this and it's pretty obvious at the end of the episode But it's also one of the most important episodes in terms of the message Trickster wanted to convey, as the Winchesters' codependency and all this story of sacrificing themselves for each other is one of the main causes of the problems they have during the series.

Something gr8 bout this ep is that it’s SO sad and traumatic when you first watch the series but then it’s hilarious when you re-watch. Since you know the outcome is Dean doesn’t stay dead, you can enjoy the humor. It’s still major heavy that Sam doesn’t tell Dean everything at the end, but I get it. In my years of binging this ep is mostly funny to me now.

Aww, Davion💚- @ 22:00- 😭. My lil bro actually is homeless even though he works 2 full time jobs. (He lives in a city where rent is $$$$). I actually did bring him to live with me for a yr and a half, like actually drove states over, picked him up for it and everything. I was doing everything I could think of to help him. His current desire is to stay in that big city now, but I still call him all the time to make sure he’s ok. And I visit him when I can, but dude I feel you so much on this. Dean may be fictional, but I am so glad there are ppl in this world who are naturally somewhat like him. Some good characteristics to strive for.

Watching this reaction felt the same as when I watched this episode with my sister, my sister is the one showing supernatural to me (I'm still watching it) she's already seen it obviously and so when we were going into this episode she said 'you're going to hate this episode' she was right lmao. Nathan and Divek laughing while Cameron and especially Davion were just going through it was literally how it felt for me too, my sister was laughing at the ridiculousness of Dean dying but I was just traumatised. My emotions could not keep up with this episode, it made me numb, I literally couldn't cry because I was in shock. The amount of trauma that this episode puts Sam through is something I'll never get over. The whiplash seeing the '6 months later' is unforgettable. Point is, this episode is amazing for so many reasons but I also hate it because its emotionally draining lol.
