Would you happen to have a decibel meter to measure how loud the fan is on high mode and on low mode at about 3 ft. away?

What screen you using? How many hours on the bulb? How loud is the fan? I'm seriously considering this projector and inquiring minds need to know!

I shot this right after I got the projector so it had under 10 hours on the bulb, and I was using my silver ticket acoustically transparent screen. As for the fan noise on high, unless you have the projector in a different room, myself and another person who has one thinks it's way too loud. If you run the lamp on low then it's fairly quiet.

@@TerminatorJuice Awesome man. Thanks for responding! Which ST screen did you go with WAB/WVS/ something else? Aspect ratio? I'm between 16:9 and 2.39 :1. I think I'd need to run it on low. Room is pretty small so loud fan noise is bad, bad, bad. No windows or anything in my room and we're going to paint it super dark so I'm hoping to get away with low mode...thoughts?

@@djmeltdown65 I run mine on low and I'm happy with the image quality, but you'll have to make that decision for yourself. To my eyes the brightness drops by about 15% on low compared to high. As for the screen, I just switched to a Seymour 16x9 from my ST 2.35:1 screen, because I wasn't happy with the size of 16x9 content on the scope screen, and I had just enough height on my front wall to go to a 16x9 ratio without losing any width. So my advice is figure out what is the widest screen that is comfortable from your viewing distance, and then see if you have the height to go with a 16x9 or not. Scope screens are awesome for watching movies shot in 2.35-2.40 ratio, but unless you have a really wide front wall with a low ceiling, there really is no reason to sacrifice 16x9 content to have one. IMO

@@TerminatorJuice You don't mind the "black" bars while watching scope content on your new 16:9 screen? I'm coming from an old rinky dinky Viewsonic P706HD 1080p projector with a pretty abysmal contrast ratio. Those black (gray) bars drove me crazy! I was worried going with a 100" 16:9 vs 96" 2.39:1 they would drive me crazy too. Maybe the blacks are so good I won't notice them?

@@djmeltdown65 I was very worried about it, so that's why I went with Seymour screens so I could have some masking panels that are easily removable with magnets, so I can go back to a scope anytime. And even with the JVC, the black bars are still very much gray, so don't believe any JVC Fanboy who says otherwise! Lol
