Thanks for tuning in everyone!! Have a great day and don't forget to leave a comment below... got a question let's hear it!

Get ready for leakdown tests so low you think your gauge is broken. And it's nice to see the breather not working so hard either. I had a set of gapless top rings made for a TDI-m I built years ago. Since it was so new back then ,they wanted a sample of the ring pack so I sent them in for inspection. They were impressed with the quality of the rings ,so I got a new set and sent them in for modification. Back then ,it was only like 35$ to mod a top ring to gapless. Knowing they can mod any ring or supply them, I'd never rebuild another engine without em. Also,I'm a big fan of the dry cylinder lube. If it's good enough for a top fueler to put a slug in "dry" then it's good enough for me 😬

Awesome work!!! Just want to say tho not sure if you did do it or not don’t forget to file the burs of the rings where you used the ring grinder on them. You need a very fine “diamond” file
@JWClassicVW2 жыл бұрын
I did... just used some 1000 Grit sand paper. There weren't any real burs to remove. 😀

Holy shit your supposed to gap the oil rings too 🤦 I'm surprised that my turbocharged zx3 fully built by me is still running, I'm running 25psi and my 1 and 2 ring's are gapped 10 thousandths More than the suggested gap that came with the fordge pistons, but no where did it say I needed to gap the oil ring's
@JWClassicVW2 жыл бұрын
Lol... yes sir for most rings yes. For the total seal it's a must. As always I'd consult the manufacturer of your specific rings.
