@@hiswordremains I guess you just have a short grasp of the whole picture here. Maybe you can't appreciate this scene because of shortcoming of your creativity? It's okay. You see what you see. If you phase out everything then all you really see is a guy constructing a gun out of a skeleton.

The weapon is called the Gristle Gun. It is a bioengineered weapon. Or an organic weapon to be precise. I love organic weapons they're so cool. I wonder if the Gristle Gun is based off or built on a real weapon.

I wonder what real life weapon the Gristle Gun is based on or built on. My thoughts about this scene: Awesome, I mean 100% awesome. This is exactly why I love organic weapons made from flesh, bones and cartilage. I hope to get the game Scorn when it is released next year in 2022. I also hope to get this film, I really love the design of the Gristle Gun and am pretty sure it is based on a real life gun but I don't know which one.

autarchicflux: Gonna have to differ there. The Matrix was more glamorous and visually appealing but also fairly formulaic (villain threatens hero, mentor trains hero, hero meets girl, hero beats villain, hero gets girl). And the Wachowskis made clear with the sequels that they had no idea what they were doing with that story, they just got lucky. Whereas eXistenZ was truly original, makes you think, keeps its rewatch value, and definitely stands the test of time better.
