I remember reading the book "The Improbability Principle, Why coincidences, miracles and rare events happen every day" by an Oxford university statistics professor. Most of the talk, specially the last 30 minutes of it, seemed to have been adapted from the arguments in that book. It could be a coincidence as thinkers can align in their thought process. But Vaisakhan Thampi is an exceptional speaker with clarity of thought, logical presentation and engaging conversation style, that makes his talks great to hear. I planned to watch only for the first 30 minutes of it, but ended up watching the full 1 hour 30 minute talk due to this. We need more people like him in popularising reason and scientific thinking

താങ്കൾ പറയുന്നത് ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേട്ടു ...നല്ല അവതരണം ..ഒരുപാടു സിനിമയും കോമെഡി പരിപാടികളും കാണുന്ന ആളാണെന്നും മനസ്സിലാകുന്നു. ഒഴുക്കോടെ നല്ല മലയാളം പറയുന്നതും അഭിനന്ദനാർഹം .... താങ്കളെ പോലെ വിമർശനാത്മകമായി ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന ..ഇപ്പോഴും അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ പിൻബലത്തോടെ യുക്തിസഹമായി ചിന്തിക്കാൻ ബോധമനസ്സു പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ചിന്താ മണ്ഡലത്തിലാണ് ഞാൻ ജീവിക്കുന്നത് .. 40 വർഷമായി പിന്തുടർന്ന ദൈവ വിശ്വാസം വരെ ഈ വീക്ഷണ കോണിൽ മാറ്റി ചിന്തിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി .. ഒരു പ്രശ്നവുമില്ല ... നല്ല ഒരു മനുഷ്യനായി ജീവിക്കാൻ ഇതിന്റെ ഒന്നും ആവശ്യമില്ല ...എന്നാലും ..ഇതുകൂടി കേൾക്കൂ അച്ഛന്റെ നിർബന്ധത്തിനു വഴങ്ങി രാഹുകാലം, നോക്കി ..നോക്കാതെ ചില കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തു. പലതും ഒരു തോൽപ്പിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ഉദ്യമമായിരുന്നു .. പ്രിയ സുഹൃത്തേ ഇന്ന് വരെ ശെരിയാകാത്ത ചില കാര്യങ്ങൾ രാഹുകാലത്തു ചെയ്തു തുടങ്ങിയത് തിരിഞ്ഞടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു ...അങ്ങനെയല്ല..യാദൃശ്ചികം വെറും തോന്നൽ എന്ന് കാണിക്കാൻ ആവത് ശ്രമിച്ചെങ്കിലും പരാജയം ആ കാര്യത്തിൽ ...അങ്ങനെ പല പല ഉദാ ഹരണങ്ങൾ . അനുഭവം വാ പൊളിച്ചു നിൽകുമ്പോൾ ...അതെ യുക്തി ബോധമനസ്സിനെ താങ്കളുടെ നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ പാടെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളാൻ അനുവദിക്കുന്നില്ല .. അതുപോലെ തന്നെ ചില ജ്യോതിഷ പ്രവചനവും .. വ്യക്തിപരമായി യുക്തിസഹമായി 100 ശതമാനവും ശെരിയാണ് ... ശാസ്ത്രമൊന്നും എനിക്കറിയില്ല .. എനിക്കറിയാത്ത പലതും ഈ ലോകത്തുണ്ടെന്നു മനസിലായി. നിങ്ങളും അതൊക്കെ മനസ്സിലാക്കും ഒരുനാൾ ... എഴുതിത്തള്ളാൻ വരട്ടെ ..അന്വേഷണം തുടരൂ .

About solar system, each planets are going around the sun in an electrical orbit. mercury, Venus, earth, mars, Jupiter and Saturn that is the order, and much away from saturn you have Uranus Neptune and Pluto also going around the sun but in vedic astrology we do not use them. And one common misconception people have is, they think that at the time of Parasara (the rishi who wrote Brihat Parasara hora sastra,the Bible of astrology.) they did not know Uranus, Neptune so they did not use.now scientists have discovered it, we have to incorporate them. this is the view point of most of the western astrologer and may be half of India astrologer. modern astrologer advice you to use Uranus, Neptune and Pluto too. But if you read what rishi Vyas wrote carefully, Vyas did mention other planets which where away from saturn. He used different names for thous planets chithrabanu etc. So he was aware that,there were another planets in solar system. But he simply did not use them in astrology, because Uranus Neptune and Pluto are too far away from earth and their impact on earth is very minimal. so they do not used in vedic astrology, it is not because the seers of vedic astrology did not aware of this planets.
