From what I’ve read in the comments from people who follow Karpe, this was the first time Chirag sang in Gujarati, he mostly only sings in Norwegian. And of course, towards the end he kept repeating that line in Urdu as well. Amanda also harmonized with Kaifi when he sang in Balochi and she also sang in Urdu towards the end. So language truly wasn’t a barrier but a bridge in this song, everything from the vocals to the music blended so perfectly together. There were 7 languages in this song, Norwegian, Farsi, Gujarati, Arabic, Urdu, Balochi, English. About the hyena line, I heard another KZbinr mention that it’s a reference to a line from one of Karpe’s song. 41:26, Magdi’s dialect is Egyptian. He wasn’t saying hello, just pronouncing “qalu” differently, “ qalu ajnabi.” Qalu means “they say” and Ajnabi in Arabic translates to foreigner or stranger. Urdu has so much of Farsi and Arabic and so does Balochi so it all sounds very familiar despite being different. Did you guys notice the post office sign? Kaifi is standing inside the PO. At 20:50, you can see 15 written in Urdu above the door that Magdi comes out of. An obvious reference to Season 15🎉

@@gadgetsnation6118 that’s not the line I’m referring to. She also sang Piya Piya Janu, which was written in Urdu. She also harmonized with Kaifi with the line Biya Biya Janam, which is the same in Balochi and Farsi. Farsi is the common element in Urdu and Balochi.

@gadgetsnation6118 Thank you! Janu is a very common Urdu word as well. And Piya is a Hindi/Urdu word. So Piya Piya Janu is an Urdu line in that context. Also, that line is written in the Urdu script, which was distinct from the Farsi and Balochi scripts used in this video. ( don't ask me how I noticed all those details, I often find languages fascinating) Not that it matters.There are so many commonalities between all these languages.

The song is an expression of the diaspora and their love for their motherlands. Egypt, India, Iran will consider the singers as ajnabi (foreigners) due to them being Norwegians, but they care not as they celebrate their multiculturalism. If you listen to Carpes music, alot of it is about the exclusion people of immigrant backgrounds feel in their nation, if they keep a connection to their motherland and parents identity.

I think the hyena line is about being aware of predators disguised as lovers. She also says dont be wise in hindsight, as in you will learn later what your love really is.
@androssl7 ай бұрын
The line "My queen, don't be wise in hindsight" also refers to the Koh-e-Noor diamond (the worlds most famous diamond, mentioned in the previous sentence) and the British empire takeover/stealing of that diamond by Queen Victoria ultimately. This has for a long time been a controversial heritage from the empire days.
