Good review, I did the exact same thing. I left frontpoint and went with ring. The only thing I hope for is for the ring app to become more intuitive as an alarm app should be. The frontpoint alarm app was is very feature functioned. The monthly/yearly ring price point was the main reason I went over.

I think it depends on the paint. It’s pretty sticky, it might remove some of the paints

For xfinity, would I have to disable the 5.0GHz Wi-Fi network before setting this up? I am purchasing the basic kit and a few cameras (peephole and stick up). I had this proble with Zmodo and dont want to spend more money to have it again.. Thanks

I have 5GHz and 2.4GHz at the same time and it works on 2.4GHz network just fine. I didn’t have to disable anything. What’s the issue with xfinity 5GHz?

I currently have Simplisafe but want to change to Ring. One of the biggest hurdles for me is Ring does not have glass breaks. Also can you please advise if Ring has a website that allows access to change the settings ex: bypassing zones or having no delays on zones thanks.

No, it can survive temporary power cut off. But the battery does not last very long

I have a small dog and contacted ring about this. I was told to install the motion detector upside down, by doing this it will give you 4 feet of freedom from the bottom of the floor for your pets to roam.

My setup experience has NOT been simple, as I expected. Encountered an issue level one tech support could not troubleshoot. They will call me in 48 TO 72 HOURS!? I'll probably be at work. I have a ring doorbell and it works pretty well. Based on reviews I thought this would be an easy setup. So far I'm not impressed. Can't add any sensors, keypads etc. Couldn't add vua qr code or manual entry. Tech support had me troubleshoot the app. Nope. Tried on 2 android devices, a mac and an ipad. And now a two to three day wait? I understand sometimes products don't work out of the box. But to wait 2-3 days for a callback? Not very good customer service. My fork over more $ for Nest UPDATE: After reaching out via Twitter I received a same day call from advanced tech support. They believe there's something wrong with the base unit and are sending me new one. Still disappointed my ring isn't up and running out of the box but glad I got the answer (which I suspected)

Spending too much time for this system .it is not reliable and missing many points.This is one of it: Size of magnet so wide not allowed to open window frame inside for cleaning, Keypad is simple not develop well: No network light if status of network is fine. It is only show amber if it is bad.During installation 2 sensors failed. One of camera signal is poor and need additional hardware.Apps should not depend of browser IE or Chrome and etc. Better portal

The size is my complaint too. I guess they put the regular batteries in there it make it reusable.
