The position of Singapore is something that can't be compared or replaced so I don't know what you are talking about . Sri Lanka is still a beau country though but policies and stupid decisions made it a poor country. I think if you would have said that sri Lanka can become a developed economy then I would have agreed with it but Singapore is on another level. You don't seem to know the role they play . And you do realise that in 1950 , Singapore was a literal slum. All of it , so comparing it with your own country is actually an insult.

Localist here: some people get into the train from different locations, so there can be seats empty but they are reserved. Sri lankan trains doesn’t stop at very specific place in the station so there’s no desired location for each classes. Always ask from a local and they know how to be in the right place. Lastly, if you have a 3rd class or no guaranteed seat always try your best to enter before a another one( yes you have to struggle for it).
