This performance was extra emotional. These opening ceremonies were dedicated to Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luger who should have been in the audience but he was killed in a training run earlier that day. Fourteen plus years later and I still can't watch this performance without tears running down my face.

I believe the Olympics committee asked Leonard Cohen to come sing the song, he couldn't' make it and suggested k d lang as she 'owned' the song now.

Hallelujah was wriien by a great Canadian poet and songwriter, Leonard Cohen. I did see Leonard Cohen live. Leonard Cohen is my second favorite songwriter, after Bob Dylan, whom I also saw live. Recently, K.D Lang was at the CCMAs (Canadian County Music Association Awards) in Edmonton, where she reunited with the Reklaws (hope I got the band name right). Thanks to Montauk Ed for this song reaction request. Cheers, Don, and to all of the fans of this great country music! ✌️

Her band were The Reclines they were fabulous ❤

Just a quick note - the Reklaws are a group in their own right. KD's band is called the Reclines (after Patsy Cline).

K.D. performed "Big Boned Gal" with her reunited Reclines band at her Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame induction. It was great seeing the performance!

@@dennisking7872 You are absolutely correct --- I was amazed at that performance. I was also delighted that she extracted her dress from the exhibit in the National Music Center for that show. It all came together beautifully!

I think it was Sampsons hair cut by Delilah. It took his strength away and women been messing with men ever since. 😂

I was just wondering when was the last time that you reacted to a Carlene Carter song? Have you done "The Sweetest Thing" or "Every Little Thing"? Allot of Things in her songs. Can't find the video to ELT on KZbin anymore, but there are several videos of her performing it live. Probably her biggest song. Or how about Deana Carter? I ran across the video to "Count Me In" a week or two ago. That's one of Deana's higher charting songs. I had not seen the video in probably some 25 years. Top 5 single back in the day, and almost totally forgotten now. Both of these two gals have very few reaction videos on KZbin that I can find.

My favorite version of this is Hallelujah - Kaylee Rodgers. There is also a Veteran's version Hallelujah Veterans Version: Letters From Home
