KD Lang is one of my favorites. Her vocals are genius, and NO ONE can do Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah like she can, and he even said she was the best. A stunning singer who did not get the kudos she clearly deserved. Thank you so much, KD, for sharing your talent with all of us!

I absolutely loved her cover of Hallelujah. I watched the You Tube videos of her singing it at the Logies in Australia which was the best one, then at Leonard's dedication, and third at the Canadian winter Olympics. Unbelievably great! I watch them again and again. I never cared for the song until I heard her sing it and then fell in love with it.

I have been following KD Lang from the beginning of her career and I knew back than that she was a gift from God ! I am 66 yrs old now and all these years of listening to different singers and their music I can honestly say KD Lang is NO 1 Hit Wonder . She's untouchable as far as there being Anyone past or present in the music world that can sing on her level . I wish that there was because we need more like her but she is in a class all of her own ! She is not only the Greatest singer out there but also a great human being in general . I would feel Blessed to be able to wrap my arms around her and tell her how much her songs and amazing voice has touched my soul . Her singing Hallelujah is GOLD ! KD Lang thank you from the bottom of my heart and long may you live in our hearts , for you are one Amazing talented human being .

Yes, as a gay man who came out in my 30s (in the 90s) and as a creative person, I have looked up to k.d. lang for a long time, and not just as a performer. Tom Power, thank you for saying that to her on behalf of many people. I have a counselor who reminds me of k.d. lang, who is very good at what she does, and whom I appreciate for who she is, but sometimes it's fun to imagine I'm building life skills with k.d. lang. I relate to what she said about being a vessel and living in the moment. It's good for all of us that she still enjoys doing it. Besides being an admirable human, she also has one of the most beautiful voices, perhaps the greatest voice, of her generation. I enjoy all her work. There are better songwriters, but hardly anyone can interpret songs better and with a greater depth of soul. I didn't wake up to popular music until after I came out, and she was one of the artists who woke me up. I think my love of Classical music helped me appreciate her purity of tone. If I could keep only five albums to listen to for the rest of my life, Hymns of the 49th Parallel would be one and the rest would be Classical.

There was a time back in the day when I had a really, really stressful job and I came across K.D. Lang. The first time I heard her was when a friend put on Ingenue. I was just blown away with that voice. Anyway, for about a year, when a weekend would come and I could get away from the work and the stress, I would open a good bottle of wine, maybe roll a party favor as well, put some headphones on and drift away from the world with her and Ingenue. That first song, Save Me, meant a lot, lol! A lot of body parts would unclench and the blood pressure would come down and I could breathe normally for a while. The second album I turned on to was Torch and Twang, which oddly enough I guess, was what she was moving away from at the time. Loved that album. Then Shadowland and I just kept buying her stuff. She is a gift.

@@KdLang-wj4kt It was very sweet for you to reply. Your talent is phenomenal. What I pick up is how genuine and kind you are. (It's not for show) It's always interesting to listen to your interviews. You are very true to yourself. This is not always easy to do especially when all eyes are on you. I hope your staying safe during covid. I think this lock down is driving us all crazy. Can't wait for this to behind us and soon. I never had a chance to see you sing in person; so hopefully when these restrictions come down and you happen to perform in Calgary or surrounding area, I will be the first one to buy a ticket. lol In the meantime, stay safe, stay happy, stay creative and stay sane during these strange times. Janet

great interview! Still admire the voice which never seems to change. Hope she can come to the US and specifically the southeast. Enjoyed her conversation and sense of humor.

KD Lang’s voice is second to none. I never understood why her international career was so short! Our loss...

I bought Ingenue in 1992 when it was released. I played it non stop for months. Her voice was so beautiful and unique I couldn't take the album off the turntable. Every song is just wonderful.

Yesterday I saw the interview that K.D. gave to Jack Webster long ago. It must have been in the mid 1980s. In any case she was so young and yet even then her enormous talent, intelligence and free spirit were plainly evident. From the very beginning she has been a person to watch and her music to hear. More properly to listen to it because it is very special. A beautiful person.
