Our ancestors call us all native people's of the world to defend our culture and our heritage. Reminding us the land was never ours it was a gift and we must take care of it. My fellow natives together we fight to heal and protect our sacred home which is Earth. We remember and we will never forget we belong to the land and we must fight for it

@raaskaas that land is gifted by god. he gave us the right to take care of it, so let us take care of it. it is our responsibility. if you do not care for such a responsibility you can deal with the mistakes of ignorant people. that is why responsibility exists, that is why god gave it to use. it's our responsibility to malama aina. so what are you gonna do? take care of the land? or watch it be killed.....

we can't take it to heaven yes, but we still have the responsibility to take care of it. that is what we are fighting for, our responsibility to the land that god has given us the right to settle. so let us take care of it and let us protect it, because as the hawaiian rule says "the man with the most toys still dies". we will still die...you can have as many telescopes as you want...that won't do you nothing when you die. the land is where you will go to and therefore, the land is what you should take care. from this land life is made. from this land, we go forward. not by destroying it@raaskaas

can someone explain me the meaning / history behind this amazing, powerfull and very touching song please ? 🙏
@aloha4ina2 жыл бұрын
it's a very complex history, general gist is that the song is meant to call the kanaka (hawaiian ppl if you will) together to unite under a common goal which is to protect the hawaiian lands from further desecration. like the peaceful protests and marches seen in the video, this song is meant as a standing hope as the literal translation goes. An inspiration for a fight that has lasted decades and continues to this day. I hope this was helpful, but further research would be recommended for a better explanation yk

So , should we stop visiting the islands if we are not Hawaiin. They don't seem to want us there.
@coconutcrawler565011 ай бұрын
Here in Hawai'i, we welcome all people with aloha, to experience our home & culture. However, treat Hawai'i with reverence, with respect to our land & our people. Be mindful that Hawai'i has been seized, 1893 via a staged coup d'etat by a group of opportunists consisting of white(haole) men, and the assist of US troops against Hawai'i's last ruling monarch, Queen Liliu'okalani. It is a 'sour pill' of history that our people hate to swallow & will never forget. We have a saying for all tourists, "Welcome to Hawai'i, but don't forget to return home." The last part basically means to stop buying our real estate which were illegally taken from ancestral lands, so that we won't be, "priced out of paradise."

So if we stop coming to the island, will that be better for you and your people. Can you make it on your own without the tourist industry? Can you stand alone without importing or exporting goods to free yourselves of the American government? Doesn't the owner of Facebook own a big part of Hawaii? 😢
